it is www.makeyourcosmetics.com

it is a real good resource for body butters and stuff. They do tend to flag some products, but... ah so!

Thanks for such an informative link :-) The jasmine hair honey sounds like something I'd like to try soon! That's a site that I'll have to add to my links section on my website :wink: Thanks again...

What a good link! Have you made any of these things yourself and how easy/difficult was it to get hold of the ingredients??

@hypnotizze:

i have done the 'fresh' recipes. You know, the one that calls for milk and all those ingredients that you need to use fast and once. I found those recipes effective.

For the others, welll... living in the uk you know that we cant get ingredients 'just so', so i have found some sites (a recent discovery from www.handbag.com) that would help. Since i have found them, i do intend to get my containers, whisker and supplies together in order to start making my own skin and hair recipes. Without much ado these are;

www.naturallythinking.com - i found that this site was helpful. they sell floral waters, conditioner and shampoo bases, base oils and e.o.'s at a competitive rate. They deliver fast, and you get a hand written note from the son, danny (its a family run business based in surrey)

www.aromatherapy-online.co.uk (?) unsure of their internet signature. They sell hydrosols - which are floral waters with a few drops of the same essential oils in 'em. Like the rose hydrosol would have a few drops of the rose e.o. from the distillation process. The also sell absolutes and concretes.

www.baldwins.co.uk - they do sell cocoa butter online. Also, tinctures, pippettes and containers.

Based on the easily liquid perishable ones, the results are ace, and the directions are easy. I am definately going to try the more complicated ones with my twist, though.

HTH!

yours

And Baldwins....... I don't know where you live but Baldwins brings back so many memories for me...like being around 5 and going there with my grandma to buy sasaparilla (sp) (and you could buy sasaparilla by the glass in the shop lol).

But I disgress lol, they do some good stuff in there...looks like i'm due a trip huh?

no probs, hypnotizze. I am in nottingham bye the bye. From what i gather, naturallythinking should have some butters (shea, and avocado and mango) available soon. I dunno the time frame though.

there are quite a few websites in the uk that are along these lines. I found the second one on google. Well, glad that it worked out for yah.

you need to tell me what you are doing! I have my eye on the blue voilet absulute. I want my hair to smell pretty as well as look it!

Hey Jazzy, thank you for that BUT I went to Brixton today and I found SHEA BUTTER :D and I am soooooooooooo happy. It cost me 50p for about 2 or 3 ounces I think it is. I got it from an African shop (just like cocoa said to - I must thank her!).

All I need now is aloe vera.....any suggestions anyone?? (other than stealing a leaf off my grandma's plant - which I'm gonna do tomorrow lol)

Edited because: I just saw that they sell aloe vera on the bay house website... I'm about to order some :) Thanx again Jazzy
