I was wondering this too-been lurkin on NC.com , but I want to try adding Shea butter to a "plain" conditioner, like Suave Salon Formula to see how that works. I will post the results when I get around to it.

I noticed the buzz about this stuff, too. They talk like it's the invention of the wheel or somethin'! As curious as I am, I just can NOT buy another hair product. Just thinking about all the hair products I already have makes my head spin!

Okay, I admit to giving in and buying the Mode de Vie conditioner last week (from a nearby Whole Foods Market).
So far, I think it works pretty well -- my hair felt very moisturized and soft last week. I'm on no 'poo so I "washed" with Kenra conditioner then used a little Mode de Vie then rinsed. Haven't tried it as a deep conditioner with the heating cap yet.
But, ladies, I think this product is WAAY overpriced. I think it was like 13 bucks for 6 oz. True, you only need a little but, jeez, here are the ingredients for the conditioner: Purified water, Quaternium 27, Shea butter, vanilla essential oil, Tropical tree extract (Zadirachta Indica).
I'm going to work on making a homemade version of this stuff. . .
I'm a so-called 3c/4a. I think it could work well for the 4b sistas here too.

thanks. Is it thick? (For instance Suave Ttopical consistency).
I think that's expensive too, but I'm curious anyhow

Gurl, you had me in the bathroom peering in the two bottles and shaking them! (I have some Trop. Suave too :D ). The Mode de Vie conditioner is not as thick as Suave and, although it's not runny, the Mode de Vie still "pours" much quicker. It feels like there's a larger percentage of water in Mode de Vie and it kind of reminds me of a fruit smoothie in consistency. HTH

 I love my Suave. Thinner conditioners just don't cut it for me :(
I've got to stop wanting to try every new product I hear about and stay with what I like :)

I just want to second Curlysaurus - I bought this from Whole Foods for $13 and I don't think its worth all the hype. It doesn't completely suck, my hair felt good, but it is not better than Elucence or even my Suave Vanilla Almond.
Bottomline - I wouldn't buy it again. Save your money ladies! Although I am considering buying Bumble and Bumble and Sebastian's Potion 9. 8)

any updates on this product? It sounds very moisturizing (on nc anyway) but the last time I put shea butter in my hair w/conditioner, it was dry, sticky and gross, has anyone had success with this conditioner?
