I got my order from From Nature With Love today. This is what I got:

32 ounces of Coconut Oil
1 Pound of Mango Butter
1 Pound of Shea Butter
8 Ounces of Jojoba oil
1/2 ounces of Cucumber Fragrence Oil
1 Ounce of Pears & Aloe Vera Fragrence Oil

Now what should I do with all these goodies? Do I have to keep any of this refridgerated?
Any ideas would be helpful.

I'm pretty sure that all these products have long shelf lives. Coconut oil especially shouldn't be a problem. I think Jojoba oil has a long shelf life too from what I remember because it's not really an oil (it's a wax ) and has antibacterial properties. If I had just gotten all that stuff, I would try out some hair/body butter recipes. You can probably make a good twist pomade too (noticing your avatar)!

go to www.makeyourcostmetics.com for some butter ideas.

i know that the butters can be stored, since they do not go rancid quicky. same thing with the coconut oil.

mango butter is a good skin and hair treatment. LUCKY!!!

the fragrance oils should be kept in a cool and dark place.

I just ordered and got some Ghana's gold shea butter from Nature's Wild Child and I was wondering the same thing. It's yellow, a smooth consistency and it stinks (they say it has a strong nutty odor but to me it smell like....ashes? I don't know, don't ask :? ). Anyway, I think this is going to be great because even tho it initially feels greasy, it soaks in quick and the smell is not lingering at all. I heard shea butter is good for scars and strech marks so I plan to use for that making it a something of a perfumed hot six oil body ail/butter. I have some lemongrass and ylang-ylang that I also got in the mail.

That mango butter sounds good so I think I might go for that. Since it was mentioned that jojaba oil is a wax, will it act as a binding agent like bee's wax and not seperate from a base oil? I don't have any particular recipe in mind but I know it involved some essense oils, a base oil, and shea butter for the body. I also want to make a lotion or something like a leave-in conditioner consistency for my hair.

Re: Jojoba

Although it is a wax, it has the same characteristics as an oil and so would be more like Almond oil than Beeswax. I use it as my carrier oil in most of the recipies that I use. I know that it can be expensive sometimes, but I buy it in bulk online from the Boston Jojoba Company (www.bostonjojoba.com). Their brand is Hobacare, a very high end brand of Jojoba. Its about $25 for a liter and $55 for a gallon. In stores I've paid $12 for a 4 oz bottle, so this is a steal!
