So I've had natural hair for a little over 8 years now. I did the big chop about 7 years ago. I've grown out my hair and recently trimmed it into a twa because stress from college life has started to straighten a good portion of it. It is tangling into my fro, even after the recent trim. I was considering growing my hair out to braid it (or something to protect the ends?), thus ridding me of the current problems of fighting snarls and knots. Is there any way I should go about it? My hair is currently only a couple inches long.

Also, is there any way I can make my hair healthier after such a lengthy and arid winter? I'm worried about breakage when I pick my hair everyday.

My mother doesn't have anywhere near the same type of hair at all as me, so she just thinks I should try to "tame it" with chemicals and thick gels and grease. Ew. I'm just a little distressed about what I should do. I'm open to all suggestions, provided I can google "How to."

I am thinking of cutting my hair because it takes forever to wash, detangle, and style. Sometimes it takes two days to finish. I have a month old and an almost 2 year old. With these two, I just don't have the time to dedicate to doing my hair.

My hair is bra strap length (maybe longer) in the back and armpit length on the sides. The front is about chin length. I am guessing I am a 4b -- no real clue. I recently started using the Luv Naturals product line and I wear my hair in twists. I am tired of these raggedy twists. Plus, as my hormones regulate, I am going to lose my edges. ( I do every time) I was thinking of cutting it to a medium fro. Something I can hop in the shower with and keep it moving. Or to find some style ideas beside these beat up twists to maximize my hair.
