I think someone used my trimming shears without checking with me first. I've only used them about 5 times and they kept catching on my hair! I better not have any extra damage from using those things
Should I do something with my hair before the party or just wing it? With this rain and cold I'm not really in the mood to do anything new. Decision, decisions...

Told DH that I'm gonna make a nice New Year's Eve meal....but what will it be?
ETA: Just noticed this is the Random Nappy New Years' thread *doh*
so...
In 2013, I will:
~ do more finger detangling before using wide toothed comb
~ do more dry detangling
~ use those hair accessories collecting dust

I love my yarn twists!

In 2013, I plan to:
-Continue the Crown and Glory Technique & end the year at bsl (ambitious I know)
-Purchase all sorts of bright, pretty scarves to wear
-Try a few new products
-Attend a natural hair event
-Hone my braiding skills
-Stay on NP
e.t.c.
Those are just the HAIR goals that I have.Last edited by CoilyHairedBeauty; 12-31-2012 at 10:12 PM.

I had a plan today. I was going to have a great hair day to end the year. I even wore a pre-poo to bed and the next day!! Tonight was the worst hair sessions I've had in a long time
. I had to re-rinse 3 times and re-wash
. Only to be too worn out to do the small twists I had planned. I don't even know why I bothered with this wng. Seriously. Tomorrow's going to be another wash day
.

Should I go for Day 2 of the Curl Junkie wash and go? *looks at clock* No time to twist. Oh well. Day 2 it is! (*just looking for an excuse to use the new goods*)

I'm glad I got rid of those damaged ends, but I'm mad my go to protective styles aren't possible anymore. I want to put my hair in flat twists for the rest of the week dangit!

Well, THAT (the WNG experiment) didn't work. More accurately, I don't have the patience to let it work...I haven't worn them consistently since summer and I know it takes a few washes to get mine to start looking right.
That said, as has always been the case, my natural hair really responds well to water. And since I'm still on the fence about protective styling, I'm wondering how I can water it more often. Maybe what I'm looking for is some variation on Naptural85's winter WNG method?LBell's 2013 hair motto in a nutshell: The longer my hair gets, the less I do to it. Hmm, heat damage. First time ever I allowed any to really touch my hair in 6 years. Small portion in the front for a sew in leave out. After the games this weekend Im taking this mess down and I dont care that it was only a few days ago that I had it done. I'll take the hair and make a u part wig out of it. No sense crying over burnt hair. I dont forsee me ever getting a sew in again. Never been big on weaves anyway. To be honest Im not really upset. I mean im not thrilled but Im not crying either . If anything its sparked deep thought into what its I really want to do with me hair and what is truly my short and long term goals.
Prayerfullu the rest of my hair is fine when I take it down. My hair health is more important than foolishly hanging on to style and possibly doing further damage. Hells no.
I mean sure I love to have a big obnioxious fro that turns heads. Ive been there and it was fun. Sure I loved to have my big puff back. At the beginning and end of the day I have to figure out what is most conducive to my lifestyle, have to be realistic with myself, consider cost etc.
Im actually slightly happy about this occurrence and the revelations im having because of it.....i'll be 100% thrilled once I take this mess down and make sure the naps are still nappy and intact!

Rocking a puff today, but the twists are going back in between tomorrow and Friday. I have a crochet order to complete as well, so I may as well get up early and buy the yarn so I can actually wear twists for more than a week and not have them look busted. lol

I've been hating my hair these past 3 days for real
. Wng's look terrible on me at this length, and, although I planned to put in small twists, I haven't been able to muster up the will power. That's okay though. Twistouts and I can be homies as long as I act right

I'm contemplating why marley braid costs $4.99 a bag when regular synthetic jumbo braid kanekalon costs $0.99-$1.99 ea.

I know they have to create the texture, but that doesn't justify the price, IMO.

I finally put my small twists in. Yay!! Did them on stretched hair, and I kinda love them. I also love the idea of not having to mess with my hair for a little while

Yeah, I'm assuming someone put them up for the "lols," as it were. This is why "going viral" is a double-edged sword: People will download these videos and save them for a later (upload) date. Remember that video with a woman basically abusing her daughter while combing her hair? That video ain't gone...not by a long shot...
SN: I sure hope my hair's where yours is at in 3 years...damn...I'm thinking I'd have to stay in PS for the whole year though...
And to that end: Yesterday I put my hair in 15 "Celie plaits", finger-unmatting (yes, you read that right) and cursing my WNG curiosity once again
...then I put my hat on, left my house, and went on about my business. Today I'm at home, without anyplace I have to be, and it occurred to me that technically I can keep these in for at least another week and a half if I want.
Ahhh, the benefits of living alone with no SO and no office job. (I'm kidding...sorta)LBell's 2013 hair motto in a nutshell: The longer my hair gets, the less I do to it. The less I do to it, the longer my hair gets.
