but I want to start this post where everyone posts a picture of their hair shampooed/no pooed, conditioned, unmanipulated and dry w/ no products. I don't care if you have a TWA, locs, BAA or whatever, this post is for everyone.
This isn't to judge anyone or anything like that. This is just something I'm not seeing a lot of, myself included, and I want to see it
I just want to see a post here with lots of pictures of unmanipulated natural hair. I know I can go look at albums but that's not the point of what I'd like to do. I'm kind of fighting my own issues with this and challenging myself to look at what I think I believe versus what my actions show I believe so please, no one take this personally. I'm not saying using products or styling is wrong.
Anyway, I plan on washing my hair this weekend so I will post my pic then. Please participate yall ^_^
ETA: and this doesn't have to get all technical...if you want to wear an accessory in your hair or something like that's fine...the main point is hair that's showing off the natural unstretched texture without products

I think that this is a fabulous idea! It seems that so many of the pics of I see of natural hair (especially from other boards and especially the 'texture shots'
are weighed down with a ton of product or conditioner. That's all good, but sometimes I just want to see some unlubricated, ungreased naps.
I plan on washing my hair this Sunday, so I'll be sure to post some pics after it dries sans product

It's amazing how your hair reacts when you don't use ANY products or pick it out.

Thanks, Mel.
Ooooh, Dewdrop. Someone else w/ chunky hair. I don't see that too often in the albums. That's what took me so long to determine my hair twin. LOL.My Travel Blog | October 2007 Napptural of the Month (still looking for the link)

I'm just transitioning (9 months so far) but you guys can focus on my natural growth at the top. Here's a pic below of air-dried co-washed hair. I appreciate this thread cuz I feel like I have to keep my hair "wet-looking" and filled with pomades to keep that highly-defined curly/wavy look. I'm looking at pics of these natural sistas without any product in their hair and they still look good to me (chunky, fuzzy, fluffy- beautiful).

I wish I could add some pictures, but don't you have to have a digital camera to do that?

Right now I've taken a vow to keep my hair in these twists for at least one more week, but after that I'll try to participate.
When I do participate, though, my hair will just have been wet, not actually washed. When I tried to wash my hair while it was loose, it was difficult to reach much of my scalp (I have a lot of hair), and my hair was not really clean afterward. I have only been successful in washing it when I put it in some braids or twists first. And then after the washing, it partially retains the shape of whatever I had done to it until I manipulate it some other way.Joan

Yall hair is sooooooooo beautiful and chunky and thick---I'm a little paranoid to let my hair completely dry without my trusty shea butter (only because of the color's tendency to dry my hair out more than I like) I may show a partial dry shot. My hair's nowhere near that thick though but it is what it is

I've never let my hair completely dry without putting some type of moisturizing product in it, so I don't have pics. I think I have pics wet with no product, but not dry. I can't participate right now because I'm going to twist my hair tomorrow morning and I already have the product in it from this morning after I conditioner rinsed. Otherwise, I would give it a try
ETA: I have a question by what is meant by unmanipulated. Is putting product in your hair consider manipulation? I'm wondering because other than putting product in my hair (no curl defining product btw) I don't do anything to my hair. I've never picked it out before or combed it after wetting it. So, I'm wondering if my putting product in it is considered manipulation?
