It's very encouraging to see that so many of you can manage your hair with 5 or fewer products!
I'm trying to get over being a PJ and narrow down my products ASAP. Just want to try 3 new products and I'm done!

It is definitely possible. Before I got into the hairboards I was just using Shampoo conditioner and oil. I use a variety of conditioners now for differing needs but if I had to I would use just Aubrey Organics GBP so my routine would be

Prepoo: Aubrey Organics GBP
Shampoo: Black soap
Conditioner: Aubrey Organics White Camellia
Moisturise: Rosewater
Oil: Jojoba

I do use a couple more things now on occasion but I believe this would be the essentials for myself if I was forced too.

I am learning that less is more. I usually change brands for shampoo and conditioner but here is what is on my current rotation:

Shampoo: Naturelle Aura Rosemary Mint Conditioner (Sally's knockoff of Aveda) - I know it is a conditioner but I use it as a poo
Conditioner: Nature's Gate Daily Herbal Conditoner
Leave In Conditioner: Uncle Funky's Daughter Good Hair Conditioning Styling Cream
Moisturizer: Qhemet AOHC
Styling Product: Eco Styler or Uncle Funky's Extra Butter

I usually do not use all the products at once, but a combo depending the style
- If I wear a puff or ponytail, then it is Nature's Gate, AOHC, water and EcoStyler
- Twist Out: Rosemary Mint Conditoner and Good Hair styling cream
- Fro: Nature's Gate then AOHC

Definitely possible. My regimen consists of a cleanser, conditioner, moisturizer, and oil. I use the same things all year round (seasons don't change that much where I am).

I learned less was more maybe a year into being natural. When my hair was loose, all I needed was olive oil, shea butter, conditioner, acv or baking soda, and a deep conditioner.

Wow, it feels good to know that natural hair CAN be maintained with 5 products or less...simply because I haven't even bc'd yet and I'm fearful that I am on my way to being a pj. You ladies have truly inspired me by knowing that it can be done. Thanks

Really, at any given time, all I use is 5 products. Here's my basic list:

1. Extra virgin coconut oil

2. Baking soda (as cleanser)

3. Apple Cider Vinegar (as conditioner, after the BS)

4. Moisturizer (this can vary depending on my mood, but at the moment it's butters)

5. Gel (for my twists and such)
