Wink Washing hair with Black Soap

Is it okay to wash your hair with Black Soap? I just BC'ed not even a week ago, so I was wondering if it's okay to use since it's natural and also great for your body? What about the other natural soaps at the whole foods store such as: natural Shea butter soap, natural Peppermint, Lavender, etc.... are those okay to use on your hair as well?
Just wondering because they smell soo lovely?

i actually made a "shampoo" by diluting black soap in hot water and aloe vera juice. it gets my hair squeaky clean, but doesnt dry it out and make it feel stripped. i love black soap. i use it for my face too!

i used to make a moisturizer using shea butter, coconut oil and peppermint oil. it was fabulous and i always smelled like candy! since i started locs ive been trying to figure out how to incorporate shea without tons of build-up. but my loose napps loved it

Yep I washed with black soap too. You might want to dilute it though like the PP does. When I used straight black soap my hair was extra, EXTRA clean which wasn't a bad thing. It just kinda felt a little weird, but not dry at all. Peppermint and Lavender are great too HTH

    Yep to what Shatani said!

I have taken a piece of raw black soap and allowed it to dissovle in water and used that as a hair and body shampoo. The company Alaffia makes a liquid black soap in a pump bottle that I buy from my local health food store, and I use that now to get my hair and scalp clean. I LOVE IT!!! My only warning is.....the soap is watery and not thick like regular shampoo - one time I managed to squirt it right into my eyes Not fun.

i just create a lather by rubbing the soap in my hands and then washing my hair with it. It's working well so far.

I use a liquid black soap and I love it, because it gets my scalp really clean. I also like to use it as a body wash because my skin seems to be moisturize with it and I have really dry skin

I use black soap. I ordered about 10lbs of it(its lasted me forever). We use if from head to toe. We just break off chunks of it as we need it. We just moved to Hawaii and I thought I was going to have to stop using it but thank goodness I found someone that will ship it to the island.

I my black soap! I do like some of the other posters said and dissolve some in a bottle of water and that is my shampoo. I love the fact that my hair feels clean w/o feeling stripped

I use black soap for my hair and body. I dilute it in some water and use that just like the other posters. I LOVE it. It rinses clean, doesn't strip my hair and works great for my face (no pimples!)

When I was a loose napptural I used black soap as a shampoo but I didn't dilute it as the other members did. I just got rid of the soap residue by doing an ACV rinse. And any dryness that was present was overcome by EVOO. As for the other soap bars, I never used them.
