Kinky curly vs shea moisture curling souffle

Kinky Curly is my summer staple bit it's expensive. Have any of you used both? If so , how does the soufflé compare to Kinky Curly? Is the soufflé worth trying ?!

The curling soufflé gave me decent curl definition and smoothed down my hair fine...but I didn't like it because I felt like it never really dried. The final texture of my hair was somewhere in between greasy & tacky. It also made me breakout. My guess is that there was just too much glycerin in the product for me.

While the kinky curly may take a minute to dry, it definitely does dry. One of the cons to KCCC is that it can dry hard and crunchy if you aren't careful, but I can control that by putting creamy products on underneath. I really like using Shea Moisture's other curly product --the curl smoothie--for that.

That said, I'll use regular gels like Eco-styler in a pinch with decent results if I don't feel like spending money on KCCC.
