Natural Hair At A Formal Event

I wanted to attend our school's spring dance last night, and like every other newly natural, the first concern was - "what will i do with my hair?" These days I don't even think too much about it, because I've come to realize that natural hair can fit in any setting; it depends what you pair it with. So, instead of stressing out that I hadn't washed my hair, didn't have enough time to do twists or a good twistout, I just went with the tried and tested 'fro. It wasn't stretched, either, because I had just washed my hair. But it turned out great! I p

ushed it back slightly with an ouchless band, and pinned in a flower... see pics here:

Anyone else have any pics of their hair at a formal event? Just to give styling ideas and tips to the newbies, and provide inspiration for all...

Thanks so much, Jazitones and Roseburnt... :wub: At times I realize how much harder life would be with a perm... for an event like this, I would probably have spent countless hours (not to mention money I didn't have) getting my hair fixed in town. And then I would've sweated out the press, anyway!

I have some scattered around in my album. I have worn flat twists in the front with a puff, a puff with hair combs, twist french roll and twist in a spiral curl ponytail.

I'm going to be a hostess in a wedding next month, I'm trying to figure out how I will wear my hair. I'm leaning towards either a twist out, twists in a side pun with a flower, or flat twists in the front with an high puff

I haven't been to any formal events. My friend's HS graduation is coming up. I just need to find THE style.
