I remember what the world was like before "9/11". The comforts, the arrogance, the disconnect. I even remember exactly what I was doing and (over)thinking/hoping, at the time. I need to find someone who can explain to me what it was like when HIV/AIDS and crack came out. I've read alot, but noone is saying how things got taken by storm. Hrmm.

There are so many definitions of black, I'm beginning to think it's not going to mean anything one day because everyone will be black

At the NUS Black Students Conference, they use the 70s British definition: If you ain't white/you are a person of colour, you're black.

Some mixed raced kids are black, but people never want to call them white, even over here where we never really had the one drop rule.

People can 'look black' but not be black...and then there are people who don't 'look black' but are considered so.

It feels like such an empty noun....

Culture clashes -Why are there some groups of people you will very rarely see hanging out with each other?

Why are black girls so afraid of being rejected by East Asians if they show that they have a degree of interest in East Asian culture?

Why are black people so scared that they won't be considered professional? I am professional because I conduct myself in a professional way. It has nothing to do with my hair, skin color, or dress on most days. If I hear, "I've gotta.......because I won't be professional," one more time I might just scream.
