Summer happiness is: Sitting in the driveway watching fireworks, over in the park. Neighbor kids squealing loudly with each BOOM. No crowds, no nervous dogs. Nothing to disrupt my mood as I watch and listen...and smile.

My mom and I are going to have a BLAST in Italy. I'm too excited to show her around. A teacher at heart, I love sharing knowledge about places I've been. When my friend spent a week in Spain with me, he said time with me was so informative! Once, while in the Roman Forum, I was explaining the flowers on Caesar's grave to a guy who saw me peeking around the corner and pretty soon there was a crowd around me. This lady asked, "Are you a teacher?" LOL! *it's in me*

A friend of mine who has had a rough past and a bad first marriage has re-married and is expecting her first child! This is the kind of news that puts a smile on my face. I'm truly happy for her!
