 I wanted this question to receive some attention too, so here goes. Are we supposed to "wash-n-go" our little girls napptural hair too? What do you do when it gets long? My lo (little one) has approx. 9 inches of nappy, dry hair and I don't know what to do. Am I just wanting to be lazy by trying to give her a style that can be worn for a few days, multiplying the problem of her severe scalp condition (see other post)? I have even tried what I have seen/read here about letting her wear twist and washing them--a fuzzy, wuzzy mess is all that happened :!:
I need some 911 help in this area as well.

I think twists are a good idea, do you think they can be worn in one week intervals. How about loose plaits as not to intefere with her scalp condition. In the other thread I did suggest a TWA, is that completely out of the question?

Thank you for your timely response "Queen." Matter of fact I have done the single plait style (how'd you know a sistah can't even braid/cornrow--have the nerve to have 3 kids w/heads full of hair at their respective ages :!: ) AND the twist style. It's just so time consuming to remove them to wash her hair every other day. Hey,would the no poo routine work for her, considering the washing is making her hair seem drier (it's not brittle though it's actually cottony, spongy soft, thick, dense and corse), or would that worsen her scalp condition? I probably already know your answer to that.
As far as the twa, I consider that a lost cause because if this is a condition that she must grow our of, her hair will grow and she we will be back at square one. Plus I really think that would be devasting for my little girl to go from lots of napptural hair, down to a twa like Mommy (even though she likes my hair, but knows Mommy wants it to grow out like hers :D ).
Thanx again for your efforts and suggestions.

Mocha:

I feel ya about the time it can twist you little queen's hair. I have a 6 year old girl, and I have been twisting her hair since she was two. What makes the time go by and entertains her is watching a movie. Same goes for when it's time to do take down. Usually her twists last for 2 weeks. She sleeps in a satin-like bonnet at night. She is taking swimming lessons 2x/wk so I do a no-poo with conditioner on those days to rinse out the chlorine and to "freshen up" the twitsts. Girl, I don't know how to cornrow for the life of me too. I have some sister-friends who I plan to school me so I can learn how to do this. Boy, will that be a time saver if I can learn how to do that.

yes, you can wash your babies hair everyday!

its possible!

jus use a MOISTURIZING SHAMPOO or 2 IN 1 SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER (like Suave Cherry for kids or L'Oreal moisturizing shampoo for kids, or Dark n Lovely 2 in 1) after using the (diluted with water for small child?)medicated shampoo prescribed or suggested by your dermatologist...

AND

use a good oil or hair conditioner afterwards for sheen (olive oil, canola oil, jojoba oil or sta-sof-fro) and pick out with WATER or leavein/sta-sof-fro. (see my site http://www.afronappy.com/hotlinks.html for products)

AND THEN you can do simple AFROPUFFS REDONE EVERYDAY using Goody's no-metal elastic bands or whatever you choose (see kids styles at http://www.afronappy.com/lilnaps.html ). If you don't do them everyday they will look messy but if you do they are CUTE! You can do lots (sectioned off) or just 2 or even 1 (but that can hurt her head cuz nappy hair is so THICK).
