Okay, there are only 2 months left on this challenge and definitely time for some updates.

Here is mine. I made it to BSL at my nape. (http://public.fotki.com/eshabesha/year-3/october-2009-month-32/bsl.html) Now I want the rest of my hair to get there.

I did a 2" trim a few weeks ago and I've been in boxbraids since. I hope to stay in protective styles all winter for retention. Maybe I'll have picture updates to post in December when the challenge is over. Don't know if they'll be much different from my August updates though since I cut it. :)

Okay, I started all over with my hair back in July......but I am determined to let it grow and only cut to trim. So on that note, I am in on the challenge! I currently only have a little less than two inches of hair and I will be in kinky twists for the winter to jump start the growth!

I'm still here! the nape has reached BSL, I have a picture of it in my fotki....the front is still about 2in. from the cleavage mark...I will post update pics in December!

Thanks for reposting Whitley.. I was looking for this thread. I should be there ladies but right now my hair is in twist and so shrunken.. I should be taking them down tomorrow and try to post pics then **wondering how will I cover the back fat!!!** LOL

I'm really excited to see everyone's pics.

@ the bold - Girl, stop being silly. But you know what, I was looking at some of my old pics a few days ago and I just started feeling akward about being in my bra to show where bsl is. Even if it is just showing the back. I look at it now and wonder wtf was I thinking. :o LOL. Now, I think I'll wear a belt around where bsl is or tie something around that area (a wide piece of fabric, or a scarf, whatever I can find) on top of a shirt. Or maybe just tuck the shirt under the brastrap to create a crease like once before. I just don't think I want to take any true bsl pics anymore.

I thought the same thing. I just showed the top of mine and I don't want to go any further than that. I did see a picture where someone took a safety pin to mark their bra strap through their shirt to serve as a reference point. So I'll try that next time I think.

My update:

Did I make it this year? H%# NO. :-))

As you all know, I did a major trim in August (I think) and my hair is almost back to that length. I did a length check then and here are the pictures previously posted. PICTURES (http://www.nappturality.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2029452&postcount=115)

I did a length check and took some pics for my own record a few days ago, I'm about an inch from the previous length in most places and much further away in others. Yes, of course it's uneven. Ha! What can I say I'm not afraid of the scissors and I guess I was scissor happy that day. Sorry, don't plan on posting the pics, it's really not much to see compared to my previous updates.

I guess I'm in it to win it in 2010. Has that challenge been started yet? I don't mind being in the challenge for another year.

I did find this picture online though. I always thought bsl was under the breast and that is what I've aimed for, but according to this it's right at the nips. That's what I had in August so maybe I pretty much made bsl in 2009 before I cut (with the exception of two areas). I dunno. Oh well.
