Hey, I know the bride gotta be the hottest, most delicious lookin' thing at the wedding, but I'm trying to be 'a la carte' or whatever myself!!!! LOL

I have semi-micro twists---and I call them semi because they aren't so tiny that you can't tell I have twists but they are QUITE small---and I would love to have a beautiful, off the neck style complete with hair decor if possible. Of course, nothing that would take away from the Bride...or even the dress I'm wearing...which is a beautiful lilac satin with a modest neck plunge....

What style(s) can I use and what decorations (preferably just a hint of something extra) can I use?

Be sure to include step-by-step process if you can and tell me where I can find the hair decorations. Thanks a bunch!

PS. The wedding is THIS Saturday! I should've sought ya'll's counsel beforehand but being a college student....procrastination is still somewhat of a challenge!

LOL

Lovin' ya'll,
AJoyrnee

I would go for a French roll
like this :
http://www.aufeminin.com/imworld/album/D20...2_H220505_L.jpg (http://www.aufeminin.com/imworld/album/D20040421/18096_1MHT1RSQRHHRVOFLPKU5QOZBM84V7M_vanilles_j4__ _2_H220505_L.jpg)
with a few curly twists hanging around your face, (you can either roller set
http://public.fotki.com/foxyness1975/~_mos...r1-034-15a.html (http://public.fotki.com/foxyness1975/~_most_recent--may_2004/recent/4854341-r1-034-15a.html) , or vertically straw set if your twists are short
http://www.daezhavoo.com/lawanaskinkydoos.html ) please note that "set" doesn't mean "heat", just spritz the twist and let it air dry (edited to comply with the rules :razz)
plus little spiral flowers
like this one :
http://www.aufeminin.com/imworld/album/D20...2_H204742_L.jpg (http://www.aufeminin.com/imworld/album/D20040421/18096_1MHT1RSQRHHRVOFLPKU5QOZBM84V7M_vanilles_j2_H 204742_L.jpg)
in the roll
you can buy them at Claire's accessories
how to french roll :
http://www.haarkram.e-something.de/start.html
the trick is to tuck the hair under the "roll", if your twists are small, you can pin every twist backward, gather those on the nape and secure them, then roll those behind your head.

just found this link : http://store.yahoo.com/hair-flowers/index.html
expensive but gorgeous

I'm in a wedding next Saturday, and trying to find out the same thing. So, please help ladies. I was thinking about trying Claire's myself or AfterThoughts to see what kind of hair decorations they have.

On the old board a member posted this pic and I have loved it ever since. Click on the pic of the bride and bridesmaid in the top row all the way on the right.

I wanted to revisit this topic. I am in a wedding next month. I looked at the links above but still couldn't find anything that I really liked. I really want a pic to take to the stylist. My hair is about 1 in past my shoulder when stretched.

Thanks!

Denesha, what I did with my twists is flat-twisted them up from the nape of my neck in the back and I pinned them at hte top of my head where they dangled (so prettily, might I add) around my face.

I went to Wal-Mart and got Pearl Spray (found in their arts and crafts wedding aisle) and I put a few in there... Icouldn't get a hold of baby's breath to adorn my hair.

My makeup was simple: MAC foundation, nude-lined and glossed lips, slight color on my eyes (shimmery purple b/c my dress was lavender)...

I dramatized my look with a pair of earrings that dangled to my shoulders. It didn't clash at all with my dress or take away from the bride herself.

My nails are long and naturally white-tipped so I painted them with hardening polish and called it a wedding day. :-)

With twists, it was easy to be creative because I could stuff my hair with all kinds of things! lol

Good luck.
AJoyrnee :-)

I hope you are going to share a pic :)

I'm in my sister's wedding Labor Day weekend. The style I have in mind is to do small 2-strand twists. I'm going to pin them up and then do a roller/rod set. I'm going have a few dangling in the front. I want some type of flower ring to put around it. I need to try this style out before the wedding, I have it in my mind, but it may not work, lol.

Hey Nap :-)

Unfortunately, I only took wedding pics (the one with the newlyweds), and that was all. I don't even have a digital camera...let alone a disposable one!!!! :-(

I need to incorporate a cam in my budget towards the end of July...*gonna go calculate it right now*

Be blessed!! Share pics, though, of your sister's wedding with your style!

For accessories, I think about Claire's.
For the styles:
you can make a puff, flat twisting or cornrowing the tied part. Around the puff, you can fix roses hairpins, or roses elastics.

Another style: cornrows or flat twists at the front of the head and free form 'fro at the back. To ornament the hair, hairpins too, or diamonds barrettes and hairgrips.

I am in a wedding next weekend and I've been looking for styles and flowers to adorn the style. So far the style that has come to mind is a twist out adorned with a white flower. I found a few nice looking flowers at Claires. I will take pics..i promise :)
