Greetingzz,

it is very hot here in holland.. and my locks are getting extreme dry this is my first year of locking so I wanted to ask the older lockers what they do in the summer to protect the dryness of the locks in the summer..
what kind of conditioner , regimen..\

...I just bought a goldys , revitalizer creme !! will this help??
I am 9 months in the proces and thinking about starting noopooing with the goldys conditioner( diluting the conditioner with water)...you think that this is a good Idea??

I would say just to keep it moisturized during the day. Meaning use the honey/olive oil spritz and a homemade spritz of your own using water and an eo. It is also hot her in Philadelphia and I haven't had that problem since I have been using the 2 homemade spritzes. I hope this infomation will help. :)

It has just gotten really hot in the past few days here in Chicago. I have just been keeping it really moisturized with water, olive oil, rosemary eo, lavendar eo, and glycerin. Spritz and go. It keeps my locs soft and keeps the itchies away. Haven't tried the goldys , revitalizer creme so really cant say anything about that. Hope that helps a tad bit!!

I usually mix the glycerin in with the spritz, I haven't noticed any buildup. I am only four months into the locing; so far so good.
Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Its getting hot here too!

I don't wrap my los as often now, so the heat can escape and my scalp gets a good breather...

I carry a spritz of just water and a brush in my bag at all times... and every chance I get, I moisturise.

I'm having this exact same problem (see "Am I Ready For Conditioner" thread). I too am in the Chicago area.

The conditioner didn't seem to help, so I think I may try one of the spritzes mentioned.

Winter is worse for dryness in my area. On the few occasions of dry summer heat, water is the best fix for my locs. I minimize the use of oils when it is hot.

i think i would constantly be spritzing my scalp with water with a lil sumthin in it.

i'm in north carolina, so it'll definitely be hot this summer.
