Really tree?! Really.

I can not believe I just raked my back yard Saturday morning and got it looking nice only to go out there this evening and it's covered in brown Oak blooms. :(o)

I'm trying to hang on to you Mr. Tree but you might have to go.

Guess I'll just wait until this stuff stops falling before I go out and rake again. :-|

Dear Garden Plot,
I am writing this from the warmth of my home. Yes, I know it has been several months since I've ventured into your weed growing, groundhog ridden, clot blocked, just downright messy area. I promise to see you soon. XOXO
Sincerely,
OHR

Cut down the bushes only for them to grow back to monstrous size again....ugggghhhh, going to have to dig them up completely so the snakes have no place/shade to hide!:o

Uggghhh...fleas! Why my yard? I don't even own pets.

Why are my new plants dying? I know I don't have a green thumb but I made sure to get plants that were supposed to be able to take the sun. My crotons are just crispy even though they've been watered almost daily since planting.

To top that off, everytime I go out there to tend to my plants, I come back with my pants literally COVERED in fleas.

I've sprayed the house and car but still fleas. Finally got some stuff to spray the yard and did that this morning, hope that helps.

So over it...:(o)

There's no point in buying a big dresser, because I really don't have much to put in it :-|

For the deer that keep eating the tops off my plants, I gots something for you this evening. I dug out the garden netting and covered everything. That'll fix your red wagons.
ETA: I put an old plastic garbage can over the one tomato plant that's unprotected tonight....I will win!

Dear flowers,
I am doing my best to help you survive. Please do your part. I am tired of going to Lowes and Home Depot to buy your cousins because you decide to give up the ghost too soon. As for you Silver Dollar Tree, please know that I will put you in the ground as soon as I decide on a good location. Please be patient.
Love,
Locko

2 days until I get my ottoman! :D I still don't have a real color scheme though. Most of the furniture is dark brown and brown-black. Since the carpet is grey I'm thinking about throwing in some cool-tone beige (like a light mink brown) as a second neutral and then a few jewel tones for pops of color.

I wish plant pots were cheaper so I could give my aloe vera babies away. I don't have enough window space to keep everyone happy and thriving.

Cheap flatware makes me sad inside. Same with cheap window treatments. HATE 'EM!

I could really use a bookcase. Something with plenty of room to display my current and future books. Then free up my footlocker for other things.

I know snakes are common in this area but we've lived here 4 years and have never seen a snake. Now we see 2 in the space of about a month. See this is why my garden didn't get started last year....the thought of walking out there to tend my garden and seeing a snake curled up in there...I can't.

I have a years worth of leaves on the side and in the back yard. I really need to find some energy to get out there and rake. :o

I can't wait to move out of the dorms and into an apartment. I'm tired of have TP wars with my suitemates.

As soon as I get my own kitchen I'm cooking a huge meal. Honey porkchops, garlic mashed potatoes, biscuits, watermelon strawberry lemonade, blueberry upside-down cake...... Dang. Now I'm hungry :-))

White lamp shade or clear lamp shade? hmmm.

Need to finish this painting to place over may bed. The bedroom is looking very lackluster lately.

Ideally, I'll break ground on some version of my dream home by 2018. Here's the current rough draft that I've put together. I'm in the dreaming/conceptual phase rather than fulltime networking, negotiating, and sound architecture. I do have most of the specific rooms mapped out a bit too, but it's all very rough and too much to drop here.

The "why not?" part, from my perspective, will be energy independence. Ideally, I can use my home at my leisure offgrid. I especially want to have refrigeration, hot water, and heated master bathroom (floor and toilet seat) sustainable offgrid. The other goal is to keep the estate looking fairly residential despite the businesses within. It's a one bedroom residential/home business/hobbyist complex. If I can grow enough food to feed myself without buying from grocery stores, rather than paying someone to tend to the garden, that would be awesome.

If anyone else is striving toward energy independent residential design, growing your own food, and/or redesigning your home to centralize your businesses onsite, I'd love to share ideas, insights, and such.

I see that most of your living quarters are going to be on the basement level. Make sure to not cut any corners in making sure that the construction is water-tight. Don't just take for granted that the builder or whoever is doing the construction is going to do more than an average job at waterproofing the area.

Nothing worse than sleeping/working in a vaguely damp or mildew-y space...especially of you have allergies. Or worse yet waking up to outright flooding after it rains cause your sump-pump failed. #askmehowiknow

I dislike DIY intensely but my bathroom sink caulk is crumbling so got to deal with that stuff before the sink collapses from the wall...DRAT! {o

What kind of faucet to get for the kitchen?? Have to talk dh into installing it, which can be torturous.

Gotta start looking at more carpet. I hate carpet shopping.

Window treatments for kitchen...mini blinds?!?

ugh.

I've been hearing a lot about vertical gardening and aquaponics lately. Maybe I need to step my game up this spring...
