It's barely covered on my end. I'll try to catch the opening ceremonies online, I hear it was even more spectacular then the other ceremonie.

It just goes to show how much I DON'T watch the Paralympics...I've heard the name Blake Leeper (http://www.ossur.com/?PageID=15119) many times in association with para-athlete events, and didn't know he was black until I tuned into the athletics tonight.

Hmm, Oscar Pretorius is a bit of a sore loser...

Just to say that I realised a bit late that I got his name wrong, it's PISTORIUS! Sometimes, you just get things stuck in your head even when you know the correct saying/spelling/whatnot. Where did Pretorius even come from? lol!

ETA: I should have said Preposterous, it would have been apt

Ugh, now I'm mad we don't get to see the P-Games (http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2012/09/the-2012-summer-paralympics/100365/) :-|

I've just stumbled on the P-Games on oe of the specialty channels and I'm watching the amputee swimming competitions. I don't understand how you can have someone missing an arm vs someone missing a leg. Wouldn't having both hands be an advantage in swimming?

Congrats to the USA P-Games Basketball team for taking home the Bronze :D

EDIT: @ Kari I don't know competitive swimming enough to say for sure but I heard them say a lot in the Summer Olympics that a lot of the speed and power comes from the kick (legs) so maybe not.
