lanolin is sheeps sebum - which is why alot of vegans wont use it. It is good for holding in moisture and adding moisture to one's skin.

It tends to block pores though, so be careful.

Lanolin is oil derivitive from sheep. It's a moisturizing oil and many people use it to make a balm or butter for pregnant women or new moms to get rid of stretch marks and toughen up and soothe nipples when breastfeeding. It softens the skin of your body, the shaft of your hair, and even leather! Some people have allergies to it, but on the whole it's cool...it comes in different grades from industrial to pharmacuetical((HUGS))... ;)
