Microbraid Troubles

Hey ladies, I wanted to know how to do micros when the client wants you to "save" some of the hair? Like, in other words they don't want you bend the hair in about a 4th or even in half, just bend it a "lil" bit? How is that acheived, because once that short bended half runs out, the rest of the hair left is too thin to split and use with their hair. Understand what I'm saying? So what do I do? Even when I tried to split it, the braid started twisting and looking all unporportioned....I got very frustrated :mad: ....despite that, her hair still turned out good, but I want to know how to acheive this. I bought videos, but can't find a good micro braid video :rolleyes: or class in my area.
