View Full Version : Credit Card Fraud

Received a call yesterday that someone had copied my credit card and was making unauthorized charges...the cc company stated it happened one of two ways

1. over the internet
2. in a store...esp. the ones that print your entire cc number (vs. the last four digits) on the receipt

Lessons learned:
Do not use credit or debit cards on unsecure wifi lines or computers
Insist that your cc number is blackened out if you see the entire number printed on your store receipt (remember the store retains a copy and dishonest employees are everywhere).

Thank goodness for me they flagged my acct. quickly (only b/c my card had been stolen a few months ago--I'm having very bad luck these days).

**Better yet do not use debit cards on line at all...a direct link to your checking acct. can be very dangerous

Thanks for the heads up. I read this yesterday and went shopping in the afternoon. 2 places had my entire card number on the receipt!!! I just took my time scratching it out. ;)
