HI!

Just curious...

Have you got a time goal set for your desired length?

5 years of locing I feel is the mark when my locs will be the length I want. :cow:

mmmm, I never really thought about it. I guess, I feel that at my two year mark they will be mature and a nice length too.

That's what I was going to say 2-3 years, I only want them a little past shoulder length. :cow:

well i kinda don't have a goal for desired length, i just like the idea of having a head of healthy locs. i've been locing for 10months so i guess in 2 to 3 yrs my locs should be mature :)

Prolly 2-3 years is my guess. :-? I'll just be glad when I can wear a ponytail again.

I know that I desire to have my hair just past my shoulders. How long it will take? I am guessing 2 more years (my hair grows s-l-o-w). :pop

i just hope my hair gets really BIG :rainfro .

I would have to say about 8yrs. I want my locs to grow to reach my lower back.

I don't have any goals in terms of the length I ultimately want my locs to be. My short term goal is a little longer than shoulder length, or long enough to make a loc puff or long ponytail. I figure I should be there in another year or so.

I ultimately would like belly button length locs, whenever they arrive there I will like that alot but will probably have to make some choices as to what to do next. I can not set a time goal for such a thing, I am just waiting until they reach there and enjoying my locs continued development.

I'm with Schiffon on this one. Bellybutton length sounds good to me. My hair seems to be growing pretty slowly, so I figure it will take several years before I reach my ultimate goal.

My short term goal is shoulder length, so I can do a single pony tail again. Since my locs have firmed up some and gotten thicker, I haven't been able to do a pony tail since the summer.

Maybe because I have had my hair locked for just over three years that I do not think about things like this anymore. My hair is shoulder length and to be honest, I don't know how long I want it to be. I'm just happy that hair not only looks healthy, but IS healthy.

i guess i'm like marissasensei. i don't have an ultimate goal, i just want them to be. if they grow to my bellybutton, cool. if not, cool.

as for those of you desiring shoulder-length or near shoulder-length, i have to admit that sometimes i get annoyed when i have to keep pulling my near shoulder-length locs from under my collars. don't get me wrong, i love my locs, but it can be annoying at times. of course, they're long enough to pull back into a puff, so it's an easy fix. :)

I think at my 2 year mark they will be at my desired length but any longer than that will be desired too! Once they hit my shoulders, I'll be ecstatic!

I would say maybe 2-3 years. I want them shoulder length at least and from there it really doesn't matter.

Same here. Once mines hit my shoulders I'll be happy and I really don't see that happening for another 2 years.

Yeah I would love for my hair to have LION LIKE VOLUME...
but I see that's not going to happen... (at least not with this set of locs)

Ummm... I guess I will have reached a good lenght by sometime in 2004...I hope - I'm still trying to get my hair in a comfortable bun without locs sticking out all over the place

I would like some looong locs one day though :)

I never had a length goal.

However, I now believe I reached my desired shoulder length a couple of years ago (see Avatar) .

I'm letting it continue to grow out of curiousity. It is close to the longest it has been in my life (as a child and after wearing a straight weave). If I can hold out for another year, I may maintain a brastrap length or chop it back to my shoulders. We'll see.

yes i agree.....

i will re-loc my hair probably next winter (2004) and i want a big, phat lionness mane.....oh i would be just wayy tooo flye...lolol.......i, too, want volume, length and hair everywhere........i can't wait.........i probably won't ever cut them again..........i've rocked the shaved head, twa, locs, will hopefully have BAA (soon ;)); so my next set of locs will be permanent..........

wheeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

imma a queen.....lol

I don't plan on cutting anytime in future until it is the end of our time together so if one of these years I'm sitting on my locks thats fine with me. I can't wait until they get to be a little past shoulder length so I can start doing some of those pretty updos and rolls I see in the magazines. I think in 2 years all of my locs should at least reach my shouldars.

Me too. My hair was on the thin side to start with so I don't know if I'd ever be able to achieve the 'lioness mane'. But it doesn't hurt to try :thumbsup .

I think I have another year or two to go
before my locs will finally
GET OFF OF MY NECK

Feeling hair on my neck annoys me.
The tips stop right in my neck too <_<

Upper-back is my goal length :D

Ooo, it took my hair a MINUTE before it got off my neck! It was in that dang J-shape tickling my neck like crazy!

After two years of locking, that hair is finally off my neck and touching my back. Yay!!! :D

I think I have another year to go (maybe longer) before I have the length I want. I want the locs that are shortest now to be shoulder length.

Lets see, I think about 8 more years. I won't my locs to grow to the middle of my back.

Ditto. I'm at 6 inches now...but I don't really think of it as a goal, more as the maximum length I would like for me. My goal is to be able to put my locs in a ponytail. :D

I also would like shoulder length to midback length locs. I figure that will be about 2-3 years. I am in no hurry as long as they are healthy.

I have a lifetime ahead of me...so I'll let them do what they feel. Right now they are at my shoulders (grazing my shoulders I should say)...and it's been 3 years and 8 months! I'm happy with what God gave me...HEALTHY HAIR!

I'd have to say about 3-4 years. I started with....well, you can see for yourself. I desire my locs to be about shoulder or just past shoulder length.

I'll say 5-7 yrs.

Probably about 2 years - I want them long enough for a nice pony which will probably be a little past my shoulders.

I dont have a length goal.

Now that I have some real length, I am finding that length is not all its cracked up to be. Hair on the neck, back, shoulders, and face is annoying. I see scissors in the near future.

My goal for now is shoulder length. My hair tends to grow quickly so I think that will probably happen in about 3 years. I am sure I

Simplyloc

My first goal: to be able to have a nice long bang-down past my chin and be able to do a nice ponytail=1 1/2 to 2 years.

Second goal: To cut my hair so i can shape it up, to give it back my natural hair thickness = 2 years
(because i started really short, my hair as layers all over the place. Usually people do layers to minimized the volume of their hair. I will take out all those layers for a more uniform lenght)

Third goal: Between 18" to 24" in lenght is my goal. So...my hair grows about 5" a year + i will most likely cut about 1 to 2" every year--
I am starting the lenght from my bang (just in case i cut it like a bob++----
=5 to 6 more years from my bang i should have belly lenght--Now minus the shrinkage!! :D o.k. will put in a nother year or 2!! ;)

I also want to trim my hair eventually for a more uniform look. The back is past my shoulders . I'll be happy when the front pieces are past my shoulders. That should be at least another year.

My dream length however is for them to be uniform and midback. I think that will be in two years at most. Anything can happen after that.

Having a length goal doesn't appeal to me.

My goal is strong, healthy locs.

To each his own.

LOL! The next irritant is just below the neck because the locks always
get stuck under your collar. You are forever pulling them out and as soon as you bend your head just a little, they go right back inside.

When you leave them in there, others come along and pull them out for you.

I don't really have a length goal. However, I've always had a shag thing going so I'd like to have the front and sides to catch up with the back.
