but I am interested in trying shea butter. Do any of you ladies on the no oil routine use shea butter? When it is melted does it turn into an oil? Things that I could use are Carol's Daughter products and NO oil whatsoever no matter how light. Thanks.

I have been NO for close to two years. The only oil that touches my hair is my Jamaican castor oil for my edges and I only apply that at night. If your hair is doing well on the NO routine then I would say away from the shea butter in it's pure form.
There are a couple oil lotions that pass the water test that contain shea butter. One is Bonner Brothers Castor oil lotion - it is in a pink bottle, and I think there is a shea organics one or something along those lines.
Good luck

Shea butter never did anything for me. I stayed away.

Okay, I figured this lol. I will stay away as my routine is all good and I don't want to mess up a good thing. It already took me a while to figure out that my hair didn't like oils. Thanks ladies :)!
