What's up Nappturals,

I'm getting married soon and really do not know what type of hairstyle to wear. I don't want to burn my hair straight for the BIG DAY. I would appreciate any ideas that you ladies may have on how to wear my hair or any accesories that might accentuate my natural hair.

First of all congrats on your upcoming wedding! I dont' have any specific styles to suggest, but I would do the following: 1) Definitely wear your hair in its natural state, as I assume you usually do. Straightening it for the big day says "I wanted to look pretty so I had to loose the naps" and we all know that's not true. Plus I think natural brides make a beuatiful statement. 2) I would wear a style that's a little different from what I normally wear but not so out there I don't look like myself. So if you usually wear a puff, maybe intricate flat twists in an updo would be pretty, etc.

Have a blessed marriage,
Klyna

Well, I'm engaged and of course I begin to think of what style I would wear. What I came up with was really tiny twist with some form of beading sewn on to various twist or shells or something to really make them look preetttyyy! If your hair is long enough you could do an updo with the twist. Whatever you decide I think it should definitely be some form of a proctective style.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding. I just got married in september and have short natural fine hair. I wore my hair in an updo, wich was cornrowed in the front and up the back, with a hair piece. It turned out really well. I will also post some other pictures that may help you in deciding.

Congats! You can go to my hair album:

This is how I wore my hair for my wedding in April. It was cornrowed up all around my hair, the ends were braided together in a crown, and in the middle of my crown was roller set. It was so pretty and it lasted my whole honeymoon too!

Good luck!

I have 2 hairstyles that I wore this summer to weddings in my album. I don't know how to post them on here so you can check them out in my album. Also, do a search on here about wedding or prom styles and you'll see a bunch of great styles. That's where I got my July wedding style. Also check out Napturallyme's album too. She has great formal hairstyles. HTH :)

Congrats to you and your fiance. I recently got married and also refused to straighten my hair. I went to a stylist who knew how to do natural hair and she suggested a few styles but the straw set worked best. A link to my photos are below. PM me if you have any questions:

I wore my hair in its natural state for my wedding. Check out my blog for pics: www.curlynikki.com

Look under My Hair Story for pics. I wore a Twist-n-Curl set (twisted hair with ends set on rollers). I wore a big orange flower in it during the reception. Very simple, yet elegant.

That style with the flower was very gorgeous on you!

I am also engaged and I found a few styles that I really liked. It looks like the model in the photos has a re.laxer but, I think that her curls can be reproduced with a coil out or twist out.
