since i'm not sure what kind of music interests you i'll suggest some musicians (along with their efforts) who are imo niiiice.

meshell ndegeocello(comfort woman)
res (how i do)
les nubians (one step forward)
goapele (even closer)
yahzarah (hear me)
n'dambi (tunin' up and cosignin')
joi (amoeba cleansing syndrome or star kitty's revenge )
the mango room (honeychild and friends)
w. ellington felton (soul sonnets)
fertile ground (all of their cd's-they're all worth purchasing)
roy hargrove (check the rh factor)

i know there's more but that's a start

*tries to think of some funkysoul artists that nobody's heard of...but everybody named all the ones I know*

:offtopic,

BBF, Meshell's Comfort Woman is beautiful, awe-inspiring, makeyawannamakeloveallday! Did you read the interview in Curve? It was pretty weak. The only thing new I learned is that her and Rebecca are no longer together but still raising Akira. Also she moved to the east coast.

Thanks for the suggestions ya'll. I'm listening to samples and having a ball. Be sure to list more if you come across any. I'm in the old country south, and I don't really hear about many of these artists unless they hit mainstream.
