Good Afternoon Everyone!

I am a new member and glad to be part of the nappturality site.
I am considering to go back natural. My hair is permed, currently I have braids in my hair to give the hair a rest from the perm. The last time I permed my hair was in the summer. What methods or tips did you all use to go back to your natural roots? I am not sure of the big chop, but is there another way that I can use to avoid cutting my hair to go natural? Secondly, how do you all maintain your natural hair to look so GREAT with those curls and twists?

Thanks for replying. :)

Hi Glori,

Because the relaxed hair cannot be changed back to natural, you are going to have to cut it off at some point. There's really no way around that.

Here's the thing: You don't necessarily have to cut it all off right away. You can cut it bit by bit over a period of weeks or months.

You will find much more information on this in the Transitioners' forum (http://www.nappturality.com/modules/ipboard/index.php?showforum=4)
