Yeah, another hair challenge. It was inspired by the hair pic thread of natural hair growing.
But basically, everyone is doing Protective Style Challenges with twists or box braids. You don't have to have a protective style, but your hair style has to be low in damage or breakage.

But the overall, creation of this thread is to take seasonal photos of hair length (every 3 months) with description of your hair and product routine, diet, nutritional supplement, even debunking hair growing myths due to experimentation.

Yes, the first 3 months won't be spectacular because we are just starting and won't notice quick changes. However I think this thread would be excellent was to figure out what we are doing and/or using in our hair that prevent it from growing properly or the best way it can genetically.

I want to just ask, if you are going to participate with photos, please show stretch hair photos only so we can guage the growing process. And also always use the same section and area of hair to show hair growth. For instance, if you pull a certain section of hair over your face to the nose, keep doing that in your progress photos. Some people will use back or side instead.

I will post a pick later tonight.

Question: has anyone tried trimming their hair on the full moon? I heard that it makes the hair grow twice as fast every month. When is the next full moon?

I will be doing box braids until at least July, it could be all year. I am shampooing once or twice weekly, using Avalon organics clarifying shampoo. I will be no-pooing twice weekly with suave humectant. Using Neutragena Triple Moisture leave-in moisturizing cream daily. Sealing the moisture with olive oil. I will be covering my head at night.

Uuuuuum, there's three of these threads now, including acacia's and Secret's challenge. Maybe a few of these need to be merged because they're about the same thing, even same rules. There would probably be a hundred of you in the challenge, if you just made it one big thread.

I am sorry. I can't post pics. I messed up my computer trying to take a virus off of it. Damn, idiots looking at crazy porn sites at my house. Ugh.

Hopefully, I can get a new computer next week. All images and text is boxy. It is hard for me to view and navigate websites. I will try to be back next week. Sorry.

Edit: If anyone uses a Mac computer, pm. I am thinking of buying one instead of a pc next time.

You think that 1000 mg of Biotin would do? How about if I double the dosage. Can one overdose with Biotin and get toxic poisoning?

Someone told me that Evening Primrose Oil helps with skin and hair, is that true?

I would be careful. Too much of anything isn't good..even water (ex. http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwaterintox.htm )I think if you aim for an overall health and well-balanced diet, you won't need to take Biotin. If you really want supplements, take a multivitamin once a day and end it at that.
