It just says 2004/2005 release, so that means it may not be released until next year.

Harrison is too old to be running around as Indiana Jones. Nobody wants to see Indy on Viagra and Medicaid. I think Heath Ledger would make a nice Indy.

And afrochick, you know Gambit has gotta be in X3 because when Mystique was using the computer in X2 seaching for other mutants, one of the names on the list on the monitor was Remy LeBeau. I also see Jean Grey coming back as Phoenix after her death in X2.

I always thought that novella was ho-hum to begin with, and the movie was VERY true to the story. It was just okay. Johnny Depp turned in a fantastic performance though. I really recommend renting it instead of forking over $9.50 like my date did.

'Raising Fences' based off of Michael Datcher's memoir/autobiography. Actually I don't know if it'll ever come out as a film but I know the film rights are owned by some production company and that M. D is working on a screenpay adaptation.

Although I'm not a big fan of Sister Souljah's book the Coldest Winter Ever, I'm interested in seeing the film. I know Jada Pinkett Smith was supposed to play the main character. Anybody know anything about this?

When last I heard, Jada bought the rights to make it into a screenplay for an HBO film. She will be serving as executive producer, but it's said that they were looking for a younger actress to play Winter. Also it was mentioned that Giancarlo Esposito was in the running to play Ricky Santiaga.

I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books, so I don't know all the ins and outs of every character, but from the previews of the latest movie, they showed Ron and Hermione in a sort of embrace. I wonder if those two characters are going to develop a crush on each other?

Ice-T isn't quite suave enough to be Santiaga, in my opinion. Giancarlo Esposito is a better choice.

What young black actress out there has the chops to pull off Winter? Don't get me wrong, I don't really like the story, but I think it would take some serious acting skills to pull it off. Most young actresses don't act, they just wear skimpy clothes and ride off on the arm of some dude. (Who also doesn't act.)

Kyla Pratt has done dramatic roles, so she could pull it off. Raven Simone would also be a good choice. That would be a good way for Raven to shed her "goody goody" image and show that she has a range with acting.

Oliver Stone's Alexander is scheduled for this coming November/December (they keep moving the release date up and back in an effort to maximize its Oscar exposure).

Baz Luhrmann's Alexander is tentatively scheduled for release sometime in 2006. They haven't even finished casting for Luhrmann's film (with Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicole Kidman in talks for starring roles), let alone started actual production. It might not ever get made.

I figure Stone's version will be the better of the two anyway.

Uh, not according to the previews I saw last night or www.upcomingmovies.com. The black co-star is Jamie Foxx. There was nary a sight of Denzel :-P . Maybe he's an unbilled cameo or something. Or maybe you're thinking about Denzel's The Manchurian Candidate (http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=info&id=1808471891&intl=us). That's being released 7/30/04. Why doesn't anyone ever re-make bad movies, instead of messing with the good ones? There are tons of crappy movies out there that could of been brilliant with a better director/actors/screenplay.

That's a million dollar question. I just saw the remake of The Stepford Wives and I'm glad I didn't pay for that crap! :mad

As for The Manchurian Candidate, I have the original cued up on Netflix since I've been hearing how great it was. I'll see the remake though. Odds are that it won't be as good.

They keep changing the release date for Collateral, but right now it's slated for 8/6/04.Collateral (http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hp&cf=prev&id=1808403514).

I'm so dreading the Manchurian Candidate. I love the original, and if they mess this up I'm going to be mad.

Why doesn't anyone ever re-make bad movies, instead of messing with the good ones? There are tons of crappy movies out there that could of been brilliant with a better director/actors/screenplay.
I didn't know they had an original to M.C., what year did it come out? [/b][/quote]
1962. Here's the IMDB link: The Manchurian Candidate (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056218/)

Ok, last night my boyfriend and I went to go see Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. We laughed from beginning to end. Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn are a stone trip!! The training that Vince's Average Joe team did to prepare for competitions is some gut busting laughter. I love that kinda of off-beat comedy.

I'm looking forward to:

Spiderman 2
The Polar Express
Ocean's 12 (love it or hate it, I wanna see it)
The Incredibles (love me some Pixar)
Now that I have watched the trailers: Collateral and Manchurian Candidate
The Bourne Supremacy

I wonder if he's still suffering from whatever movie that was he did where he lost mucho weight.

That movie was Courage Under Fire (he also lost weight for Talenter Mr Ripley), but that was so long ago. But he DOES look kinda icky and I was hoping it was the makeup. I liked Bourne Supremacy so much because I like that movie makers switched to having actors work out and bulk up for action roles instead of putting stupid dumb buff guys (Ah-nuld, Sylvester Stallone and others) in roles and having them mess everything up because they can't act.

Vin Diesel ruined Riddick for me. I WISH they had taken a good actor and made him work out. (And did anyone notice that dude that played Vaako was Eomer in LOTR-- I was sitting there through that whole movie thinking-- I know that dude, but couldn't put my finger on it).

You know, I just got finished watching the original and now I'm actually quite curious about the remake. The Cold War is decades dead and I wonder who will take the place of those dreaded Communists. From the previews, it appears that they've made some substantial changes in the Marco and Shaw characters. We shall see. :-P

Angela Lansbury should've won an Oscar for her performance! I never knew she could pull off that level of cold-hearted b****iness and evil.

She was straight up evil in that movie!

One of the best lines in that movie is when Shaw says, "It's a terrible thing to hate your mother. But I didn't always hate her. When I was a child, I only kind of disliked her."

Has anyone gone to see anything interesting lately? These last couple of weekends movies have been kind of blah. Maybe King Arthur will be good--if not at least Ioan Gruffud is in it.

Woman Thou Art Loosed - movie trailer

Sent to me from a friend:

This movie is truly going to be a blessing to the body of Christ.

Ladies, in case you haven't heard T. D. Jakes is releasing a "Woman Thou Art
Loosed" movie. He showed this preview at MegaFest last week. As you will
see, it appears this is going to be a wonderful movie. Ladies, this movie
was written and produced with us in mind. Take a look. Please pass this on
to all the women you know who are proud to be "Loosed" and all those who
want and need to be "Loosed"

God is coming with it from all angles and using all media forms to minister!

Hope you can view the trailer. The release is scheduled for October. This
looks like it might make an awesome movie night. Imagine getting your shout
on in the movie theater!

Star Wars 3
LucasFilms announced the title for this today at Comic Con. The title for Episode III is "Revenge of the Sith". They showed a few quickie clips including one with Anakin in the Vader gear. I'm really excited. No matter how bad it may end up being! :-) Plus, Hayden Christiansen is such a cutie!

Sanaa Lathan was there on a panel for the upcoming Alien vs. Predator. She is SUCH a beautiful sister! Wow! She looks just like she does in her films. Flawless beauty. They showed one of the battle scenes between the two species and it was amazing. The crowd got so hyped.

That movie with Jude Law, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow looks really "pretty" with it's B&W/sepia coloring, but the movie itself looks and sounds stupid: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. :rolleyes But they gave out 2 tees in the goodie bag after the presentation :thumbsup .

And they are about to start filming another comic movie (besides Batman and the never-going-to-be-made Superman) - Fantastic Four (I don't know if it was mentioned/argued over on this board or not, but this is the reason why Jessica Alba is currently a blond - she's playing Sue Storm, the Invisible Girl from the comics). I wasn't going to see it, since I think the comic adaptations are bad overall, but a young brother (the one who directed Barber Shop) is directing and I will support him just like I did Antoine Fuqua with King Arthur.

The Grudge is a movie that looks 100 times scarier than The Ring. Just imagine that girl crawling after people the entire movie :shocked . Seeing that in the clips was enough for me!

And I saw hobbits! :razz

And the Wayans brothers. They are some big time Metrosexuals. Pimpalicious. :-)

I saw Catwoman last night ( hella better than I expected since I usually dont go for superhero movies. It wasn't deep but it was a lot of fun) and they showed the previews for Mr. 3000 starring Bernie Mac and Angela Bassett. Angela looked amazing! I'd give my first born to look that good at 46. She looks at least 15 years younger than what she is. I'll probably see the movie because the previews looked really funny.

Yep 8) . Got a free press pass so I decided to drive on down there and finally check it out for myself. My guy friends are so jealous right now, lol! Especially the one who introduced me to the event just last year. I brought them back a few trinkets, but that'll probably only make them more pissed :lol ! I had a great time! I'll probably go again next year depending on what's coming out in movies and games. I'm not into comics or anime.

I'm still miffed about missing Djimon Hounsou. He was on a panel with Keanu Friday night. Dangit!

It was fun to actually see the SuperFans who dress as their favorite characters and pose for pics all day long. There was even a middle-aged dude clunking around in a suit of armor! :huh

Maybe I'll join in the fun next time! :razz

Mr. 3000 was filmed here in Milwaukee, :app glad it's finally coming out! That thing began filming at the beginning of last summer! I was in a few crowd shots at the stadium 8) Tried to get a part as an extra, but didn't! Oh well!

This may have been asked already, haven't read the entire thread, is anyone else SCARED of the commercials for "The Village"!? YIKES...I want to see the movie, but can't watch the commercials in the dark alone :razz

ETA: If you have the chance, see Napoleon Dynamite! I saw the sneak peek of this movie and LAUGHED non-stop almost. I've not laughed like this since maybe Something About Mary. If you need an escape and want to just laugh at a movie...check it out. It's an Independent flick, so of course it's got it's own quirkiness, but I LOVED it.

And Catwoman...? Uh, they couldn't give her anything more important/serious to go up against than some bad beauty cream? :rolling Guess I shouldn't complain about free movies, but dang!

So did anyone see 'She Hate Me?' I've read 3 reviews (@ Africana and Okayplayer) so far, and they haven't been positive.

I haven't been able to see it because it's not playing in Detroit. It's my understanding that it's only playing in NYC and LA right now.

Both open tomorrow.

Catwoman was tooooooooooo animated for me.

I thought the same thing too... could have SWORN the trailers and commercials said that, and then I was trying to explain to DH who Quentin is, you know, what he looks like...

So I go online to look up the movie and Quentin is not credited... anywhere...

So I'm thinking... maybe I have the wrong movie.... Maybe I'm imaginging things...

And I'm still :-? are we talking about the same movie?

I know for sure that's what they said because every time I watched the commercial, I "hmmphf'd" at that part.

I looked on IMDB.com and he's listed as "Miscellaneous Crew (presenter)" whatever that means. http://jm.g.free.fr/smileys/I%20Dunno.gif Maybe it means that he was instrumental in bringing the movie over to the States. It's two years old already.
