We'll I have cut off all of my permed ends after 6 1/2 months of transitioning. :bis And I have to admit it's a little hard getting use to, especially with it being cold. I have approx 2 inches of NATURAL hair.....but am suffering from MAJOR SHRINKAGE. I have been looking forward to this day for awhile now, and am happy to say I am truly free spiritually and from the lye. So if u havn't done it, think about it. It is a CRAZY feeling to run your hands through its natural texture, the true texture GOD intended it to be. I twisted it up last night, and it was the bomb, but I took it down to go to work and now I am supporting a bomb twistout :razz. Besides that there are no other problems, oh yeah my hair felt kinda crunchy after the cut, anyone have any suggestions on how to make it softer...my current regimen is

1. conditioner wash with Pantene Hydrating curls
2. Leave some diluted Paul Mithchell Tea Tree conditioner in
3. Put some Olive oil on
4 and some Paul Mithchell the conditioner to seal it off

Congrats on the cut! If you don't do so already, you may want to mist your hair during the day. My hair was crunchy for a while until I completed my scab hair phase and trimmed about an inch off. I'm sure that you already know to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily and to increase your intake of fresh/raw fruits and veggies.

Aside from that, I'd do a deep condition at least weekly for a while and use a hair butter instead of just plain olive oil. When I began doing that, I noticed a nice change too. Shoot me a PM if you think I can be of futher assistance.

Congrats again! Girl, go work it! :-)

Congrats, Blondnaps. You did it! I'm still experiencing rough ends as a result of using clippers at the barbershop. Don't thinkI'll do that again. I agree with tdhayes approach about cutting the scab hair off. I'll probably wait a month or two before doing that. My head is too big to be bald.

Whooo Whooo!! :-) Congratulations! :thumbsup Your main concern will be moisture and keeping healthy ends. If you clip them yourself be sure to use a pair of sharp hair scissors so that your trims will have a clean cuts.
Congratulations, again. Enjoy the rest of your journey.
