Because I've got all these M4A files (iTunes) that I can't use in PowerPoint and I'd like to be able to use them if at all possible...

You can convert M4A files to MP3 by using iTunes.

I use the Mac version of iTunes. What I do is select the track in the iTunes window that I want to convert. Next, I go to the Menu Bar at the top of the screen and select "Advanced>Convert selection to MP3." The converted file will end up in your iTunes music folder.

Hope that helps!

I'm using the PC version, which may be why the menu selection says "Convert selection to AAC," which PowerPoint doesn't accept either. :(

Thanks for the help, though...

I believe you still can. AAC is one of the formats used for conversions in iTunes, and you should be able to change this option to MP3.

Go to your preferences in iTunes, and then click on "Advanced". In this window you should have buttons listed General, Importing, and Burning. Click on Importing.

In the Importing window, there should be a drop-down menu under "Import Using:". Choose "MP3 Encoder" from the list. Click OK.

Now when you go to Advanced>Convert, your option should be changed to MP3. ;)
