what firewall do you use? just the windows one, or did you install some software? when you try to get the pictures in yahoo messenger and open them, do you get an error msg or what happens? can you open the pictures from your email if they are sent there?

if it's a firewall issue, simply opening a port or 2 would fix it but, the problem may not even be related to a fw since you are actually able to use messenger services. the problem may be a software appie problem.

it could even be inside your own browser!
