Hello! I am new here and so excited to start growing my hair. I have been relaxed since 7 and have never seen my natural hair texture. I wore my hair very short when it was relaxed and finally decided that I was tired of relaxing and flat ironing my hiar. I have always maintained healthy hair but I wanted healthy natural hair so as of July 2007 I had my last chemical fire cream. Being that my hair was originally short it was hard for me to transition without weaves and braids. So on November 15 I BC'ed. I live in Louisville and don't know too many natural sisters so I came to this site for support and to see women who look like me.

I believe there is about 4 of us (that I know of). Many of us don't put our location in our profile.

Welcome. I've been on this board for about 2 years now and it's a wealth of information. As you've probably noticed by now a lot of the conversations can get heated...but everyone is very supportive, especially when it come to dealing with natural hair.

I'm sure you will gain a lot of useful information.
