Yep. Sad. It's his problem, however, and he's going to be Black his whole life whether he likes it or not so I hope he's ale to find some peace before he makes his way out of here.
I read about this on Clutch the other day. The commentors really ripped into him. I"m kind of ambivalent myself. I think he's doing a form of victim-blaming. He feels that because he is black, it's HIS fault that he catches heat from white folks. He is totally relieving racist white people from any personal responsibility for their OWN actions. It's pitiful and infuriating at the same time.
To paraphrase Janelle Monet, I want to give him a hug and a slap. :-)) )8-|
First thought: (in case he is for real): Why, oh why does this sort of stuff keep coming up in print/film media? What, exactly, is his point?
Second thought: BTW, with the ability to 'morph' photographs, the possibility that claimed author as pictured does not exist; and that this letter is the work of a non-Black person, must be considered.
Hmmmmm....
This person obviously has issues...:( He's at it again! What I don't understand is why the magazine continues to pay him for this trash???

^ Sorry I read that article.
Don't know or care to know where he lives and the folks he lives around because obviously, they're in his world not mine.
I CANNOT RELATE
:(I can actually relate to and sympathize with this guy, a little, because in my teens (i'm 47 now), I did feel that way at times. With that said, my sympathy is limited for two reasons:
1. I was a teenager when I felt occaisionally felt this way; I DON'T feel this way ever now because I took the time and trouble to work on my self esteem, over a period of years, in my twenties. He could do the same.
2. As MommieDearest said,It is sad, especially at his age, and as a successful journalist, with his resouces, he choosing to do nothing about it. Makes you wonder if maybe he likes feeling this way, a little bit. Just sayin'.:(Quote:

oh THIS guy.
When I first read that article I thought that I also would probably chose to not sit next to him on the subway. Not because he's black but I can imagine dude gives off some bad vibes. he also strikes me as the type of person who might not understand that people dont like him because he comes off as an a$% and not because he's black
anyway, it's his choice to be miserable. i actually have little patience for problem wallowers and woe is me'ers. either find a solution to your problem and try to fix it or if there's no solution accept the stuff you can't change and move on.
also @ bithyia : it's funny you mention that because when i read an article by that guy, there were parts of it that sounded like it was written by a 20's something white female. i wouldnt be surprised if this person didnt even exist.
^^^
Hmmmmm...
