Rock Hard Baby Hair (4b/c)
Ok I'll admit it..I'm old school and I love to 'slick down' my 'baby hair'. The problem is that since I've been natural, my baby hair is now grown hair and no longer lays the way it used to. I've used a number of gels before and am currently using Ampro "superhold" protein gel and IC with Sparklelights. Neither have the holding power I'm looking for.. by afternoon the baby hair is fuzzy and sticking up again. I've never had a problem with flaking and I don't mind it if my "baby hair" is hard and crunchy (it's just the very edges after all). So ladies i thank you in advance and appreciate any product you can suggest that will give me the rockhard baby hair i'm looking for. BTW, my hair is 4b type.

I was speaking to a lady who coaches synchronised swimming and she says that that for competition the girls use...gelatin. That's right, Knox gelatin from the food aisle. Apparently you can pratically knock on their hair. I'll ask her for more details next time I see her.

Have you tried Ecostyler Gel 10? Also, applying water or wetting the hair before using the gel and then tying it down might help to set it and keep it from frizzing up and holding it in place.

I haven't used Prostyle in I don't even know how long, but my mom used to wet an old toothbrush, put an ample amount of Prostyle gel on it (enough to coat my hair), and then brush down my baby hair. It worked. And talk about rock hard! Those poor baby hairs didn't stand a chance.
