To much essential oil. Only a couple of drops are needed and you need to put it in a much bigger oil first. 30 drops are not needed. My hair comes out of my head when I use to much e o.

My mistake was deciding that 'popping' locs would be a good idea. I popped the base of several locs at my crown after a few months of semi-freeforming and then braided the loose hair around the base of the loc because retwisting wasn't working for me. Now I have lots of little loose hairs that I had to sew back in (awesome video on youtube). I took down one loc a few weeks ago,but stopped short of the base because I was afraid most of the hair wasn't really attached to my scalp. Live and learn.....

-My first time twisting my hair, I twisted some of them in the wrong direction. Cause Of how some of my parts are I got confused

-Used too much honey, so my hair ended up being sticky
for quite a few days *sigh*. I'm going to melt down the castor oil and coconut oil then add honey into the mix. Instead of dipping back and forth <LESSON LEARNED>

Very informative indeed. Thanks for posting. But why is banding for Sisterlocks necessary?

^ I thinks its to prevent unravelling, SLs are not latched to the end of the hair.

With my previous set of locs, I palmrolled every week. Never again. I also didn't wash my hair often enough. That lead to nothing but heartache.

Ditto. I undid one loc about 5 months ago...lint city.

-Overtwisting and overlatching, thinking I had to 'control' the frizzies. With my hair being as curly as it is, frizzies are just a part of locs for me.

    - Coconut oil. Major buildup. Lesson learned.

    -Loc envy.

ditto, i love em tho. I really thing two locs in particular wanted to marry, as they are now almost fused into ONE loc, less than a month after joining them...dunno how they managed that.
