Thank you sooooo much for answering my questions .

When you bun, do you stretch your hair before hand or do you bun on wet hair right out of the shower? And since you wash once a month, do you cowash inbetween? How often do you moisturize your hair?

My bun can last at least 2 days and when I re-do it, I spritz with water and use a little oil, moisturizing cream, or mousse to make my hair neat.

On the day that I wash, I usually wear a wash and go. I do not co-wash in between. I'm trying not to be so lazy so I have been moisturizing frequently (every other day, spritzing with coconut oil).

My hair is in need of a good clarifying, wash, and deep conditioning. I will be doing that tomorrow and then putting some twists in. I like low maintenance styles since I have kids to care for, one of which has classic (below the bum) length hair.

I forgot to mention that the longer I go between washes and I keep my hair bunned, the more stretched my hair becomes.

The picture I posted today was taken on dirty hair that had been bunned. That is why I was able to show off my length on dry hair. Normally, my wet hair is shoulder length and dry, unmanipulated hair is above my shoulders.

Oh your hair is so lovely ChelWren!!!! Such an inspiration, I am currently almost chin length! I did my big chop on October 21, 2010, this has really been a liberating and wonderful experience for me and I absolutely love my hair, I couldn't say that before with my relaxer. I'm totally trying to get in on this challenge! I seriously can't wait to see how long my hair can grow!

@ChelWren, I got another question, if you don't mind . What do you do when you take down your bun? You said you spritz and apply CO. Do you finger detangle or twist up your hair or anything like that? I'm trying to wrap my mind around being able to bun for a month straight without having to re-wash, and not have ends popping and locking everywhere.

I don't do a sock bun. I twist the length of my hair into a cinnamon type roll. I take the bun down every morning, spritz with water/oil, finger detangle, and re-style my bun. I occasionally use mousse or SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie to smooth my hair down.

I'm trying to be better about washing my hair more often. My goal is to wash every 2 weeks. My ends are very dry so I deep conditioned this past Saturday and I plan to do it again this weekend. I can already feel a difference in my hair since I've been moisturizing everyday.

    I hope that helped some.
