I stopped relaxing in 2005 and cut all the relaxer off 2/14/06 so according to the pole I'm a Natural Nazi, LOL.
Natural Hair is beautiful no matter the texture!

One of my aunts is also natural, and two of my cousins are as well.

Why am I just now seeing this thread? LOL Yall need to PM me with this interesting stuff! I guess I'm a 2b1 on Lbella's scale! I was a serious NN back in the day but I think I'm still considered a NN tho. I can't get complacent.

I saw the light back in 1995.It didn't occur to me until 2000ish to do an internet search. I've calmed down a lot since everyone I associate with is natural but I'm always going to be a proud NN. My hair routine has simplified a lot and pregnancy killed my product junky days. I keep the length at about mid back stretched but when I was pregnant it grew to my waist. I cut it in a postpartum rage. I dont bother it and it doesn't bother me.

I chose natural nazi. I think I transitioned 2004-05 and chopped it off in March 2005. Joined NP in lurk mode during the transition. Those were the good old days!

I did two BC's but although I relaxed between the two I never let go of my natural state of mind sooooo I was a nazi...originally BC'd on 05 second was in 06 my relaxer only lasted 8 months. Once you mentally go nappy and FULLY embrace it, that straight hair business doesn't work

I started transitioning in 2009. I actually started doing it because I couldn't afford to spend $55 to go get a relaxer and after a few months of not having one I decided I didn't want one. I wasn't influenced to transition by friends or the internet, even if it may have become being more popular at that time, I did it for me. After I made the decision to simply let the relaxer grow out, I started looking online (since I couldn't find a job post-law school, I had a lot of free time on my hands to do the proper research) and found CurlyNikki and Nappturality, which became my "spots" and I was on YouTube like all the time trying to figure stuff out.

When I was transitioning, I thought I'd be into the whole "defining your curls" thing, but I have coils, not really the curls you typically see in those videos. I also lack the patience to sit and rake gel or whatever through my hair for a "wash n go". If I was doing a wng, all I wanted to do was throw on some leave in and EVOO and GO. LOL, my hair would probably look cute doing a WNG with the carefully raked gel and whatnot, but I won't be finding that out anytime soon unless I cut it all back off, because if I didn't have the patience with 6-7 inches, I DEFINITELY don't have the patience at this length.
