Thanks @Olahh and @hivierhair and @CCmomof5 do you ladies have any updates I can drool at?
I'll post update pics this weekend. I think there's been some progress, but I've been wearing my hair out a lot recently (in loose ponytails/ponypuffs), so hopefully that didn't cause any damage.

I saw on one of the earlier WL Challenge threads that we're to post our routines and such, so I'll post mine here (although, I don't always follow it to a "T"):

    * Thoroughly finger-detangle using oil and/or condish

    * Co-wash my hair at least once a week (I shampoo as I feel the need)
    >> In the last few months, I switched over to Tresemmé Naturals from V05, but since I ran out and I'll be using V05 again... until it runs out.

    * Seal hair with shea mixture and olive oil
    >> I think I'll incorporate Wave Noveau leave-in again. I used to love that stuff and it loved me back! lol

    * Protective Style, i.e., buns, twists.

Also, here's a current length check. It's slightly longer than it appears, but I didn't want to stress those "overachievers"

    Attachment 10011

(I don't know how to increase the pic size, sorry)

Girl you're already waist length please exit our thread LOL jk! But seriously your hair looks there already, you're more then welcome to stay though and post tons of pics we can drool over.
I'm looking forward to everyone updates.

Bhahaha! You literally made me L.O.L.

So, wow, I guess my perception is off lol. I thought waist-length was a bit lower...or I guess, hip-length... I need to review anatomy, lol. Anywho, I think I'll stick around b/c I'd love to be full waist-length (and eventually, full hip-length). If there's a hip-length challenge, I guess I'll join that, too.

Thanks for your feedback, ladies, and for giving me clarity B)

I can't believe it...I have been sulfate free for a while but apparently my hair dislikes shampoo in general.
You are making clay washing sound really good right now. I hate tangles and my hair at times can tangle like nobody's business. I'll have to look into that more. Glad you found something that's making your routine easier.

I tried the terressentials mud wash and it was too messy for me. I don't want to mix my own clay wash because I am too lazy, so I have been using Shea Moisture African Black Soap Purification Mask in place of shampoo with awesome results. Its the first time I have ever used something other than shampoo that actually cleaned my scalp and kept it from itching the next day aaaand my wash time was cut in half! I was able to detangle with my cleanser...unheard of! 0.0
Thank you to whoever panked me!!

Hey ladies! I did a haphazard length check today. These aren't the best pics, but if you can see the belt, I think I'm about an inch or so away from waist length. Some of my strands actually stretch down to the belt, but it's not enough to claim wast length YET. I still have not done a decent trim, so I may be taking off a half inch or more on my next wash day, but even with a trim, I should get there by the end of the year if I take care of this mane.

@hivierhair: I've heard a lot of talk about Shea Moisture's line, but have yet to try it. If you can detangle with a cleanser, it has to be good.

@CCmomof5: With all that hair, you'll be reaching WL soon - trim or no trim - and probably before December. On another note, it's crazy how our hair can rest on our shoulders, but stretch halfway down our torsos! It continues to amaze me.

The purification masques is marketed as a deep conditioner, I just use it as a cowash because it has african black soap and clay in it. When I would use it before or after shampoo my hair would feel dry. I have since learned though that used as shampoo ( right before a quick condition or a DC) it is the gentlest yet effective co wash I have ever used.

I co sign that our shrinkage is amaaaaaaaaaaazing!
Thank you to whoever panked me!!

Hi ladies!!!! I just got back from my vacation yesterday and school starts today. Whomp whomp. However I am making a goal to post in here once a week. I know my hair has taken a beating this past month because of pure laziness sigh I'm going to put in two strand twists either tonight or tomorrow so I can have my hair done for the first month of school. How's everyone else holding up?
