Has this affected a large portion of your locs, or just a few?
I agree with this as well. Depending on how many locs are affected, try taking down a few vs your whole head. This may be tedious, but one or two twists or braids can be easily disguised. Well... not a perfect solution, but not the worst. Otherwise, yeah, cutting is the answer (there are ways to save some length if needed). So sorry this has happened to you.

I know I may be "late" with this but here goes:
When I do lash extension we use a type of medical grade glue. I recommend you try a remover that's designed to work with medical grade glue." Any caring lash-extionist should be able to provide you a bottle or order it for you. Here's a source: http://www.butterflylashsolutions.co...products_id=80

I'm still picking glue out of my locs and the pieces are no longer noticeable, but the way my hair feels has changed. It's no longer springy and soft, it's more stiff and compact. I haven't had another retightening, but I feel as if my hair has already meshed with the glue. I'm afraid of build up issues later on. The tech that put the glue in my hair told me that it was oil soluble, but oil only made the build up worse.

Sorry to hear. No sugar coating-you will not rest until you start fresh….IJS the 'feel' is a major issue and when you feel that hardening, get ready you may start smelling them as well- mildew is sure to follow, letting you know stuff is trapped in your locks. I say this with compassion bc I know you want to save them. You can; but, if you do be ready to accept the changes you will deal with.

Just a quick update: I think I got all of the glue and oil out of my locks. I picked out a few and didn't see any glue pieces or strange buildup. My hair is still a little dry near the ends, but my roots are fine and I think a few more conditioning sessions can remedy any remaining crunchiness. Thank you all so much for your advice and help.
