dealing with lint help! !

I'm coming up on my one year mark so I decided to do an act rinse for many reasons. When I did it I was shocked to see all the build up in my hair and used a cleanser right afterwards. After the rinse I saw large amounts of lint trapped in a few locs, which made me freak out because I want sure why the acv rinse didn't work. I did another rinse and even did a apostate baking soda treatment and that didn't work. What should I do? I think my only choice is to dye it now.

The acv cleaned your hair which allowed you to see the lint. I recommend doing an acv rinse frequently. It is actually good for your hair, skin, and scalp. Can you get someone to pick the lint out of those locks? Are the locks in a spot where you could cut those few off and start over with just those few? Be sure to keep your hair covered when you lay down. I would also refrain from wearing fluffy clothing and using blankets that have a lot of lint.

ACV ( I think you meant to say) is great for skin and hair (internally too). Baking soda will make it worse. Baking soda is great for loose naturals, because it rinses out. With locks, it can easily get trapped. Locks with lent, it can get trapped, sticking to the link and the shed hair in the lock, leading to more visiblity of 'white stuff.'

Only solutions:
Cover it up with a marker
Pick it out
Take down locks
Implement preventative measures like Choco suggests ^^^^^

I dont know anyone whose gotten rid of lent fully from rinsing-but I guess it is possible. If you find out how, please come back and let us all know! It would save alot of locked heads!

The lock with lint are in the front row and iv tried picking at it, but the lint of pretty stuck on there. I'll keep doing the rinses and may even try to marker trick. Thank you!

Good luck, the marker trick may do it...just know down the road that there are ingredients in there that may weaken/dry out your hair eventually (just where it's applied).

Unfortunately, most of us find the more we pick..the more the lock unravels . It can quickly become a part of the lock. Keep us posted!

It's been a few washes since I first noticed the lint in my locs. I tried another acv rinse and have been covering my locs more often while im at home and whenever I lay down and I don't notice much lint even after a wash.
