Good question EmpressRi, I haven't tried the balm, and the honey worked to keep my hair soft when i used a little in the spritz but too much and it made it sticky too so i'm not sure about using alot of it on dry hair.

I haven't tried the EVOO/Honey mix as a deep conditioner in a long time. The one time that I did it, I'm pretty sure I used too much (it was running all down my face & neck) and I made it way too hot in the microwave.
But I do use EVOO in my deep conditioner and the last time I did twists, I ended up using some honey & water 'cause I was at the airport and had no other options. It was a bit sticky initially but it held quite nicely.
I will have to revisit this blend in the near future, keeping in mind the "nickel sized" portion that is recommended.~African Cheetah~

I did an overnite DT with honey, olive oil and an ORS pack. My hair was supersoft when I washed it out. I got an 8oz travel sqeeze bottle and heated things in the microwave. I tried to do equal amounts of honey and olive oil. I'm not sure what the right combo is though. I comb it through braided sections of my hair. I noticed my hair laid down more. I think that was the honey.
I think some people use honey for there twists. How much and what other products are you using? My album

I have used a combo of olive/honey to retwist my baby locs (though most recently I've used just honey) with success, and recall a recipe from on older thread in the loc forum of a spray used to moisturize locs.
Here's the recipe (I haven't tried yet, but plan to):
1.5 cups water
2 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp honey
