We all see lots of "what to do" threads, but this one is twisted :P

Here's how we're gonna do it. You can post ONE "What NOT To Do" tip per post and the reason why not to do it. It could be because of a lesson you've learned or common sense. You may want to spare someone your pain, or state a scientific fact about hair. Keep it positive and helpful.

Let's make this an informative thread that everyone can benefit from!

------------------------------

I am going to start by giving my best WHAT NOT TO DO.

Don't obsess about hair length and buy into the hype.

If you concentrate on keeping your hair healthy, it will grow to its fullest extent naturally! For some this is shoulder length. For some it is on the back. Just because your hair may not grow to the lengths of another, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your hair. It just means your hair growth phase is shorter. Everyone's hair growth phases (anagen, catagen, telogen) are different, and mainly genetically determined.

As long as your hair is healthy, be happy with its condition and flaunt your beautiful head of natural hair!! If you've achieved healthy hair, you've succeeded!
