Re: The "what Not To Do" Thread
Do not take advice from YT without vetting it first..Look for testimonies, in print and video and look for before and after. So many give harmful advice in ignorance and disappear when it ends in a disaster.
stay away from bentonite clay in your Locs .... a video from a 'trusted' source did my first set of mature Locs in. #RIP

Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry.
It merely astonishes me.
How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company?
It's beyond me.

Re: The "what Not To Do" Thread
After a yr and a half...it turned my locks into a sandbox....clumps of sand would drop out when I took a loc down, and puffs of mildew. I saw pics of my Locs from the back and I saw bands of whiteness. I did not use product, so when I investigated by opening up a lock....piles of mildew and sediment would dislodge. My Locs were super heavy, hurt my neck and a mildew smell I could not rid....obviously from the breeding ground that was formed.
Dont get me started....PISSED
I'm fine now, 7yrs into my 2nd SL journey. I barely use food products on my locs now. Just diluted clarifying shampoo/rotated with a moisturizing one for winter months and rosewater/Vit E to the scalp. Real simple.Last edited by KnottyAuthor; 09-07-2020 at 08:34 PM.

I have thought about tryinng bentonite clay in my locks but never did. Thank you for the info because I would be pissed too.
