Default Looking For The Nappylocs Book

    Hi,

I am seeking to learn how to maintain my interlocks myself after having them professionally started. I have the nappylocs tool, and would also love to have the resource of the nappylocs book but it is not sold separately.

Does anyone have a used copy that they are willing to sell? Please contact me, if you do.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
Learning to do your own interlocks is not hard, however, doing your own hair can be time consuming. Here is a video showing you how to do it. The person in the video is Dewdrop/Dynamic Runner, who used to be a member here years ago.

    Hi Lockolatte,

Thanks for the posting the video. I think at this point I may be overthinking the interlocking process. My biggest concern is with the retightening pattern. If I don't complete a full rotation, or say I have enough new growth to do 1 1/2 rotations, then where do I start the rotation in the next 4-6 weeks when I interlock again.

I'll be using the 4-point rotation like in the video you posted.

Do I just start the rotation from the beginning (which would be north in Dewdrops video) whether or not I was able to complete a full rotation on the loc during the last retightening session?

You're welcome. I can tell you that on the few occasions that I've done my own, I started at 12 o'clock and finished when it was tight. I did not analyze the lock the next time to see where I left off and my locitician doesn't do this either that I know of. I think the point is to not go in through the same spot over and over. Locks are very forgiving and if you make a mistake they will still come out beautiful. Good luck.

Ok, that makes more sense. All that's left for me to do now is jump in and get started.

This is totally my question too. Also what are the results differences between 2pt, 3pt 4pt and reverse 4pt. Also are their other types of patterns?

    Hey @tlwnurse
This video may help - the results are probably different for each method - I am not too sure in the short term -
