That's a reaction usually from something external coming into contact with your scalp. You don't want this to spread or continue without treatment.
I really hope it doesn't continue, as i can't afford a doctors visit since i have no health insurance :/ . Hormones is definitely a possibility too, i've considered that as well. One weird thing i had happen was when i had my last period in September, I had my normal symptoms and one of them was breaking out in pimples. When my period was over, my pimples strangely didn't go away and are still popping up regularly heading into October. I feel like a damn teenager all over again. One of the pimples even showed up in one of my balds spots, which i find abit suspicious.

Hi! I agree with the last reply of Deecoily. I think if the condition persist or worsen you should see a medical professional who can help with all the unexplained bald spot that is happening.

Hormones are a b&^%h. It may be as simple as a hormone imbalance. Not hard to fix but you need to be evaluated. Have you gained or lost weight as well?

Yeah i've had wack hormones in the past. But Nope nothing drastic, the only thing i've had is off and on bloating and occasional water weight gain that disappears. I stay firmly in the 130ish range for as weight wise. No more or less. However i guess its worth mentioning i had explosive breast growth between last year and this year. I mean explosive, im talking about like 8 cup sizes increase. I went to the hospital earlier this year because i got very sick with some stomach issues, and they did some blood tests along with a CAT scan of my abdomine and the only thing the found was an Enlarged retroverted uterus in which the doctor diagnosed me with fibriods as the cause (not the cause of my illness but the cause of why my uterus looked like that on the cat scan). Blood tests came back normal though.

Woo yeah girl all this could be related. Fibroids are the devil - we Black women get more than our fair share of them. So it all depends on what you can afford to get done at the moment - bloodwork is fine but hormone checking is usually a specialist thing. If you can put up with it, just minimize your product usage for now and see if the condition settles down. If it worsens, then you really should see someone about it. Yes of course you can shave your head, I've done it a couple of times - but that won't fix the underlying condition. It is not life threatening, so you can take the wait and see method.

On another note... The pitiful healthcare system in the US is a real problem and prevents people from being able to seek the help they need. I have left the US now and moved to a country that takes better care of the health of its citizens. It really makes a difference. I had a medical issue pop up the last time I was in the USA and thank God I had travel insurance that covered it. Otherwise I'd have a $20,000 debt. I don't know how people do it.

Girl i know, literally every female in my family has fibroids. I was so bummed out when i was told this, yet i couldn't say i wasn't surprised. I low key already knew i more than likely had them. My periods were hell as a teenager, i was so thankful that they had moderated out as i got older. I honestly feel like i've had them since i was a teen because my periods were so tough on me. My mother had multiple surgeries do to them, My only aunt had to have them surgically removed(and it was huge), and my grandmother on my father side had a partial hysterectomy because of them.
Like my family lineage is NOT in my favor...
But I will keep updating as weeks go by of any changes. Along with the biotin, i've also started easing in my multi-vitamins again to see if it helps.

As for insurance, they said I qualified for free health insurance, in which i spent several months filling out stuff, making several phone calls, sending in the same information over and over again, Mailing letters, sending emails, opening accounts, answering questions, just to be told the same thing "We don't have enough information, we need *insert random thing i've already sent in like 4 times already*". Eventually i gave up and stopped trying. It was like i was running a circle. If you don't mind me asking, what country did you move to that had better health insurance?

    Hey,
I moved to Australia. Healthcare is really good here. A few years ago I broke my arm. Had a 4-hour surgery surgery, a titanium plate, 3 days in the hospital. They gave me my take home medication and I walked out and paid $0.00.

Private healthcare is optional, if you don't have private you have to pay a small levy each year with your taxes. Private healthcare means you don't have to wait for planned surgeries and can choose your doctor. Public system has waiting lists.

There is a safety net so no one goes bankrupt because of a medical condition. Everyone is covered.

Pre-existing coverage is offered by private healthcare after 12 months.

    So it's pretty good.

Okay i have an update , its been about 3 weeks since i first noticed the balds spots. And about 3 weeks since i started taking the biotin. Sadly i have not see much signs of regrowth ,so the biotin isn't working like it normally does as i saw quick results within a week the last time i used it. i also have noticed thinning out in the middle/top of my head( though its kinda hard to tell just how bad it is because my twists have more weight to them from growth, so they naturally pull the hair down, even more so when wet and weighed down). I also noticed some areas around the spots that were clearly short and broken off.All my spots seemingly are irregular lines connected to each other, almost like someone who is mowing a lawn but doing a really bad job. the scalp sensation seemed to have been mostly at bay, but is still there. If i can in the future, i may see a doctor about, but as of right now, with the situation im in, i just can't afford it. I try not to really look at my hair every day for the sake of my mental health (it's hard not too tho, i want hair just like any other woman and never had the chance to actually enjoy long hair). Because i got enough on my plate for as worries and issues and i don't need to be reminded of the fact i could end up going bald for seemingly no reason. Im honestly just too tired for it....But the hair on my overall head doesn't seem to have stopped growing, my twists are still getting longer, have more weight to them, and hanging down further as time goes by, its just like someone is carving spots in between all of them

Hey Sis. Hopefully you're doing better, but be aware that medical conditions like alopecia areata and lupus can cause bald spots and a 'funny feeling' on your scalp. Alopecia areata gives you patchy areas of hair loss, and a lot of people notice itching or a tingly feeling around the time the hair is coming out. Discoid lupus can also give bald spots, and most people feel pain or discomfort in the scalp, but some people can feel an itchy or tingly or 'weird' sensation in their scalp. Like Deecoily said, sometimes it can be a reaction to a product too!

Honestly, I"m reading this and strongly feel you have a medical condition. Your hair falling out is just a sysmpton of something physiological that is going on internally.Cleanse with some psyllium husk and see an internist and a derm if you haven't. Keep us posted and blessings to you.
