@LBell: Yep, it' true! I used to be able to do wet braidouts on my bsl hair, but at this length (almost grazing APL) It doesn't work. They come out so shriveled up, and shrunken, and funny-looking!

After co-washing my hair, I make chunky twists and wrap them in a t-shirt to plop them. Once they are almost dry, I take them out and add a considerable amount of EQP Mango butter or ESG. I finger comb that in, and braid or twist tightly. Next day, my hair is dry, stretched and fabulous!

Had a dream my hair reached my butt stretched. Passed up BSL for the most part, so it's going to happen. I still had 50% shrinkage though.

Okay I'm trying something new, daily scalp pats for a few minutes. I did them yesterday and today and my scalp feels invigorated which I hope translates to... something beneficial for my hair? I'm not even sure what I am expecting to happen here but it feels good to do them so…
Also daily water sprays on my hair, this I know will be beneficial since it's moisture, something my hair always needs.

I guess my routine is the K-I-S-S method coupled with Longterm Protective Styling. Easy, efficient and (hopefully) effective.

Me: [folded arms] You're so selfish!

    Hair: Huh?

Me: You never want to do what I want to do!

Hair: Yes I do, when you want to do the same thing I do!

Me: Don't try to confuse me. Our relationship is one-sided and you know it!

Hair: [sticks tongue out] Well, I know that you should know that you, by doing what you did, tried to make me do something I don't like to do, and that's a fail ANYWAY.

Me: You just couldn't stand to stay stretched for bunning. And I moisturized you EVERYDAY!"

Hair: How long have we been friends?

Me: Since our bc on June 5, 2005

Hair: And how did you grow me to bsl?

Me: By co-washing and bunning daily. But you're only past sl and you can't make a wet bu-

    Hair: I just did!!!

Me: [Brightening up] Oh that's right! You never cease to amaze me!

Hair: [singing] ♫ If you don't know me by now.....You will never, never, never know me......Ooooh ♫

Unable to visualize Labell's post of her french twisted beehive hairdo; I googled french twist. Honestly, I was unsure of what is considered a french twist.

I saw style images of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys & Kim Novak's worn in Vertigo. Since I was a tad bit surprised by the hair photos - I googled chignon.

The search results were "eye-opening" & I realize I confuse/misuse styling terms (not that it matters much). However, I do wish that Labell would have posted her french twisted -beehive hairdo.

That's a favorite of mine (french twisted) & think it works well with many variations. Last week, I too wore a classy version of this style for my interviews.

Thinking of hair styles - I adore 'updos' made with twists & braids. My experiments yielded styles that appear intricate but aren't because of the loop/lattice work effect of the twists or braids.

It doesn't matter if I have 4, 6, 8 braids or twists or tons of individuals. The back of the head becomes an interesting piece of 'art'. An added plus is the styles do not require bangs or pins & barrettes.

My hair needs to be detangled and trimmed something serious. But...meh, It makes no sense to do it when I have dance class tomorrow night. Maybe Saturday. I'll touch up this color in February...or in March, in time for both my performance dates. And as usual, I'll have no idea what to do with my hair because wash and gos while dancing will cause accidents to happen. I guess I can do a pomp in the front and a large bun? It'd take a lot of pins to secure it, but it'll be cute.
