I think Ricky's NYC is going to stop carrying Miss Jessie's. It's not on their website and they've sent their inventory of the stuff to their pop-up clearance store by West 4th. Just when the Curly Meringue grew on me ENOUGH to want to get the large size on a BOGO. Dammit! :-( Guess I'll switch back to Curl Junkie...

Okay. Doing an experiment; daily washing like Consuela and them. No shampoo, just co-washing or water only rinsing. My ends are feeling funky again, so I'll take a moment to trim when I get home. But the process is very simple:

Get under the water, soak each section and separate the roots. Co-wash if I used product the day before. If co-washing, I rake the conditioner through to get any shed hair and work out any minor tangles, then rinse. I apply my deep conditioner right behind it, and rinse after my shower routine. I towel dry to soak the excess and speed up drying time. Apply product and let it air dry.

It's been three days and so far, so good. Aside from my ends feeling crispy, my hair looks and feels good. My hair DOES dry completely three or four hours later, so I'm not walking around with damp hair. Yes, I've broken my twist routine to try this. I'll report back on Saturday to give my verdict. Lol

Finally washed my hair (shampoo wash) & detangled yesterday. In the past if I'd waited that long I would've had organic locs to undo literally. I love my wooden combs :-)

I'm officially out of Curly Meringue. Now to get through all the Cantu products I bought months ago (2 1/2 jars of Curling Cream and a jar and a half of leave in). One thing that CAN be said about daily co-washing: you WILL get through your stash pretty quickly. Lol

Reached my goal TWICE of growing my hair down my back.

Realized shrinkage doesn't give a bother how long my hair really is.

Experienced breakage and more gray due to being stressed the heck out.

Was pleased to see how my hair doesn't look damaged to other people. But #themfeels

Suffered through all 5 stages of grief. Acceptance it is.

Contemplating my 3rd big chop. (Not bald)
    "Authenticity is true beauty."
"Asking God why He gave us this hair, then praying for it to grow..." Stahp it!

Praying for you. I know what grief can put you through, physically and mentally.

    Update on my daily co-washing:

Hair feels good, a step up from how it felt last week. It's also relatively tangle free; for no other reason than removing the shed hair frequently rather than waiting a week or longer. I apply my product after plopping/towel drying and let it air dry completely. Soft definition, nothing too intense and I'm okay with that.

I've read/heard about "water only washing", but I'm honestly not sure if I can go without using SOMETHING to actually wash my hair WITH. But it makes sense, because the oils that don't make it down the hair shaft eventually does(?). Not willing to test it out yet, but when I get down to my last product, I'll try it for a month.

Bought a sample of Hair One cleansing conditioner because I was curious. Is it really any different than co-washing with Hello Hydration (with a few add-ins)? I guess I'll find out on my next wash day...
