Am I the only one who feels herself slipping into a rut? I feel like this medium length is a catch 22. At least it's longer than it was, but it's still too short to really do anything. I wanna wear two strand twists but my hair coils on itself so much in the back that it messes up my look. I'm thinking I should try dry twisting instead? Anyone have any suggestions? It doesn't help that my back layer is an inch shorter thanks to a bad cut by the BF some time ago. My actual hair feels better than ever, it's just at a frustrating length...anyone else sharing my plight?

Im feel the same way but it'll get better it'll grow as long as we take care of it. I would suggest Bantu knots its a cute style for any length of hair, until your hair grows to where you to want it to be or putting in a protective style(wigs.weave or braids) untill it gets to a length you like. Putting it in a protective style and leaving it alone til the phase of frustration passes, will help your hair not to suffer the raft of your rut

Yeah, I"m in a rut too, so I am either going to get it braided, or get a sew in! I already knew I would be here soon and after the mishap with the rubber bands, i am so over my hair right now, so I will be tucking it away for a while(besides this will keep me from buying more products!

I was in a hair rut for a little bit, but I found that joining (or starting) a challenge helped me forget about it. I've spent so much time trying to pamper my hair and protect it from split-ends and tangles that I haven't been worrying about how short it is. I'm too happy that it's growing
Transition: 10 weeks
BC'd : November 14, 2007
Type: coils, spirals, napps Texture: medium, wiry, coarse Density: normal
Current length: nape- NL unstretched (sometimes lol). almost BSL stretched
Goal: APL twist/braidout/ Waist+ stretched
I promise I'll get a camera. . . someday
My mantra for life:
Do what makes you happy. Love what makes you happy. And follow your gut.

Had to cut my hair several times now so it's shorter than I am used to. That doesn't stop me from getting different styles. I am quite inspired by a (white) hairstylist.
There is way more we can do than twists. Check my site for options. More to come.

I actually liked my hair better when it was in the medium length stage. I wore a lots of comb coils and coil outs. After I wash and conditioned and oiled, I would band my hair to stretch it and when it was fully dry, I'd twist it and it would make my hair seem a little longer. You can do lots of styles with medium length.
