Me, my stepmoms, and stepsister went out this weekend and last weekend and "canvassed" the neighborhood. Basically knocking on doors, asking if people if they had already voted, and who they supported. If they haven't voted and they're waiting for Nov. 4th. We also told them the polling information etc. It was another lady in our group, and she had amazing sisterlocks. I had to tell her so, lol.

Le’ me alone (yep, I do) :P !

Maybe a more accurate term is ‘northeast coast’ vs. ‘east coast’ but any state in the southern part of the US that seceded from the union i.e. Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas etc. is ‘the south’ to me.

For all those who stood in line for hours, if you had to take a potty break, what did you do? I'm off tuesday and was thinking about being a place holder for people standing in line who need to take a break. I'm wondering if that's allowed :dunno:

^^^It was freezing cold yesterday morning as my friend and I stood in line to vote. People made trips to their cars for quick warm-ups and to get chairs, and even breakfast. I think you'll be ok as long as you bring someone along with you to hold your spot or become buddies with someone standing in line with you.

I voted the morning of Nov. 1. My friend and I left school at 4 am to drive to our hometown. We got there an hour later and ended up falling asleep in the car after we parked. At 6:30 we woke up and got our tails in line. We ended up waiting outside from 6:30 til about 8:15. They opened the doors and let us wait in line in the building until voting started at 9. The entire voting process didn't even take 5 mins.

I felt so proud voting for him!!!

well, i voted yesterday(saturday), but still . got in line at ten twenty am, and got home at two fifty pm, but it was worth it.

is it true that they only count absentee ballots if its a tight race?

My husband and I both voted Friday. It took 2 hours from start to finish because the line was looong and there was a temporary computer problem. There was Obama water given out and I watched as some people yanked their Obama sticker off their water(elderly white people) . It's a good thing that gov. Christ changed the Jeb early voting rules so that people here in FLORIDA can vote early. Jeb didn't want early voting(or minority voting).

My husband and I waited over FOUR hours October 31 -- the last day to take advantage of early voting in AZ. The crowd at the polling center we went to was packed and the majority of people in line were people of color. There were easily over 300 people who were in line with us when we went.

My birthday is Nov 4, and I pray I get get an Obama presidency as the most amazing 40th birthday gift ever.
    Have a great day,

    Serenity

They're always counted, but usually not until precincts close. So if things are tight, those absentee ballots become crucial.

Overall, there were zero opportunities to vote early ‘in person’ on the east coast (outside of absentee)
    [/b]
Yeah, WTF is that about? I told people up here in these parts about how you could just roll up to City Hall in Richmond and vote just because you felt like it and everybody looked at me like I was crazy. I haven't heard much about it around here.

I just hope and pray these polls are prepared for Tuesday.

My husband, my mom and I went early voting on Saturday. My mom voted for the first time. I was actually happy that our early voting was paper ballots and not computers because it was easier to help my mom, plus I know darn well which circle I darkened in lol.

We got there at 9:40 am, and didn't leave until about 1:15pm. My water broke about 12 noon, but I stayed until I got my vote in. Now I have an Obama baby to watch election night with

    Sue.
