Congratulations!! I haven't gotten that far yet, but, I've been reading other threads that say to retain length they keep their hair in protective styles. Hope that helps.

I've been at that stage (not at my BC though) and I'd suggest a protective style like flat twists with a snood or head wrap as a protective style and twistouts (that was my favorite at that length) or something else that requires minimal manipulation but still allows you to moisturize and care for your hair on a regular basis. I'd also suggest taking vitamins if you don't already. I saw a marked difference in the thickness, speed, and retention or my hair's growth over the past 10 months with the vitamins (and I've been without them and can see the difference for sure).
Also, take your time finding what's right for your hair. Try to figure out what your hair needs and find a conditioner, a moisturizer and an oil that correspond to those needs and go from there. For instance, I need moisture, so I look for conditioners that provide that. Also, give henna a try if you need protein, it's like a natural aphogee treatment.
If you need any more pointers, I'm always willing to help a fellow nappy!!! Good Luck in your journey!!my fotki: http://members.fotki.com/babi71686/about/ feel free to leave comments, tips, and questions!!!!

Congrats on your progress so far. The best thing to do is to focus on retaining the length of your strands. Keeping your ends super moisturized and doing protective styles will aid in that. As far as hair vitamins go and being pregnant, you should definitely talk to your doctor about it...that's the best person to talk to and get advice about what you should/should not be doing during your pregnancy. Good luck on your journey and congrats on your new bundle of love

^^Oooh you're a brave mommacita! That's definitely something to admire Good choice w/ holding off on the vitamins. I know everyone's body is different and I've never been pregnant before but I can imagine any vitamins or pills/certain foods etc. treat all pregnant ladies differently as well.
